We haven’t checked in with journalist/gadfly Kim Eisler in a while — not since the days of Chris Matthews’ friends laughing at him — but he’s begun posting exclusive e-mails from disgraced ultra-lobbyist Jack Abramoff (in preparation for Eisler’s January Washingtonian piece on their friendship). Here are some of the gems:
* “I should have insisted I was only writing a screenplay. No one seems to have a sense of humor these days. Perhaps I could have hired Borat to represent me.”
* On having been left off a list of the best lobbyists under 40: “Alas, I am 41. Oh well. I would recommend Mike Scanlon…” [Foreshadowing!]
* Abramoff denies having dirt on DeLay, insists Golf Magazine story claiming he’s a better golfer is inaccurate.
There’s way more over at Eisler’s site.
