I will buy your American life for six pesos.

Serolf Divad July 10, 2008 at 2:26 pm

Meanwhile, one American’s life is still worth roughly 23,284 Iraqi lives.

Paultardville July 10, 2008 at 2:27 pm

How does this translate to the value of my whore diamonds?

DCBulloch July 10, 2008 at 2:29 pm

Overloard Cheney edited this report of course. In fact, that lost million is probably in his Bank account.

Larry Fine July 10, 2008 at 2:30 pm

Maybe Americans can sell their kidneys to the Chineese for gas money.

ManchuCandidate July 10, 2008 at 2:30 pm

Eventually the cost of US American lives will come down enough that Soylent Green will become cheap enough to be a viable food source.

[re=33141]Paultardville[/re]: Oddly, Wonkette is the first result when you attempt to use Google’s built-in currency converter by typing “1 AMERICAN LIFE in WHORE DIAMONDS.”

I smell a conspiracy.

There goes that blasted EPA again trying to get past the Execs. Silly EPA.

And George throws his hand in the air saying “Goodbye from the worlds biggest asshole.”

Truculent July 10, 2008 at 2:34 pm

Think I’ll “cash in” the guy in the next office. I need the scratch.

villageatrois July 10, 2008 at 2:34 pm

As much as our lives have been de-valued, they’re worth even less in pounds and Euros. ‘effin, snooty Europeans.

RaptorAvatar July 10, 2008 at 2:36 pm

If this were a blind item, I’d say FEMA.

lumpenprole July 10, 2008 at 2:40 pm

Where can we cash this in for Lottery tickets and gas?

columnv July 10, 2008 at 2:42 pm

I always thought I was overvalued.

villageatrois July 10, 2008 at 2:44 pm

[re=33171]RaptorAvatar[/re]: FEMA, good point. They have those 800 camps to store us, until the market is more liquid.

TGY July 10, 2008 at 2:44 pm

Just like a nickle ain’t worth a dime anymore.

Rev. Peter Lemonjello July 10, 2008 at 2:44 pm

but how do those figures translate in to Ameros?

Godless Liberal * July 10, 2008 at 2:47 pm

Is that one agency the Department of Defense?

The American dream: work hard, scrimp and save – one day you too can own a slave!

RaptorAvatar July 10, 2008 at 3:00 pm

If you do the math, we’ve killed at least $585 billion worth of Iraqi civilians. At the rate things are going, we probably could have just bought them out individually.

anabellum July 10, 2008 at 3:10 pm

the article fails to mention that as a woman youre only worth $2,760,000…

which works out to something under a hundred dollars a day based on average life expectancy…

sounds about right…certainly my boss thinks so..

jagorev July 10, 2008 at 3:25 pm

[re=33230]anabellum[/re]: Oh boo ho. Hundred dollars a day? The average human being on Planet Earth lives on $27 per day.

shortsshortsshorts July 10, 2008 at 3:26 pm

[re=33230]anabellum[/re]: Is that with or without the burkka? No burkka? Used goods. Reduce price by 15% immediately.

tunamelt July 10, 2008 at 3:34 pm

[re=33245]jagorev[/re]: Is that the average human being in general, like including men/women or is that just men or just women?

villageatrois July 10, 2008 at 3:48 pm

[re=33230]anabellum[/re]: Yeah, it’s bad for women. But what about the olds? Most of Congress and the Cabinet is depreciated out. In theory, undie-preciated infants should be worth the most, but they come with on-going maintenance costs. So, the highest value might in recent college grads with no work experience.

1ofUS July 10, 2008 at 4:03 pm

Of course Michael Raegan will pay you to kill an American commie, so that’s attaching value to the lack of a life…Michael Raegan’s.

1ofUS July 10, 2008 at 4:05 pm

Reagan? Raygun? Ryegum? Arugulum?

anabellum July 10, 2008 at 4:05 pm

[re=33245]jagorev[/re]: the figure im more familiar with is that half the world lives on less than 2 dollars a day…..but ya know what?…the figures in the article are for americans…and anyone who only makes 27 dollars day in this country lives on the street…

beyond that…i meant it as a joke as the figures are obviously BS…sorry it didnt translate…

anabellum July 10, 2008 at 4:10 pm

[re=33314]anabellum[/re]: thinking perhaps i should add… ‘nudge, nudge, wink, wink’…to some of my posts…

Lionel Hutz Esq. July 10, 2008 at 4:12 pm

The problem is that that one agency is the Defense Department.

anabellum July 10, 2008 at 4:18 pm

[re=33247]shortsshortsshorts[/re]: with burkka ie…pantyhose…

Mr-Clark July 11, 2008 at 2:49 am

Jim Newell,

Yeah, the EPA is probably the agency best suited for determining the value of a human life. I expect the General Accounting Office to come up with a different figure. Has inflation been figured into the EPA’s formula?

Sincerely and respectfully,

Mr-Clark
