I suppose she really is out of her mind now… wonder if she’ll come back???

jagorev August 20, 2008 at 1:19 pm

Shit, that sucks. So all those times when she looked like she was about to have an aneurysm on TV were… real?

carerer August 20, 2008 at 1:19 pm

I don’t get it. What’s the joke?

itgetter August 20, 2008 at 1:19 pm

This makes me extremely sad. She gave Colbert
the best interview he ever had, in my opinion.

NotUrEvryDayWEzl August 20, 2008 at 1:20 pm

Unless she hit a pedestrian I’m not impressed at this attention-getting stunt.

SayItWithWookies August 20, 2008 at 1:20 pm

After this election, nobody’s going to want to be a superdelegate ever again. My best wishes to her — that’s awful news.

[re=64007]NotUrEvryDayWEzl[/re]: Boo yay. FTW.

loudmouthredhead August 20, 2008 at 1:21 pm

Wow, karma really is a bitch.

mookworthjwilson August 20, 2008 at 1:22 pm

Outside of the fact she was a Hilltard of the 1st Order, she was pretty decent. This is sad.

AngryBlakGuy August 20, 2008 at 1:25 pm

…aneurysms are a terrible way to go, its the equivalent of a hand grenade going off in your brain.

Dave J. August 20, 2008 at 1:26 pm

[re=64015]mookworthjwilson[/re]: She switched to Hopey in June.

Manofsteel August 20, 2008 at 1:26 pm

All I can think of is the post here about her “shoutin’ ’bout Hill-ry” back during the primaries. So, to me, she’ll always be synonymous with boisterous declarations of Hillary’s supremacy.

Still, sad news. She seemed like a fun gal.

[re=64006]itgetter[/re]: Hear hear! (Here here? Here hear? Hear here?)

Mr. Herpes August 20, 2008 at 1:28 pm

As I suspected. This endless presidential race is giving America a stroke….collectively and individually. Maybe it’s time to pencil in Tubb Jones under Tim Russert on the casualty list.

corinnemic August 20, 2008 at 1:31 pm

Her Wikipedia article hasn’t been updated. Didn’t happen.

El Bombastico August 20, 2008 at 1:32 pm

Kirk Watson’s whereabouts? Anyone? Seriously, this sucks – we need people with her energy right now.

AngryBlakGuy August 20, 2008 at 1:33 pm

…being the lone token black person and therefore being forced to defend Hillz insulting language toward African Americans really takes its toll on a person.

ph7 August 20, 2008 at 1:37 pm

Something tells me the Ohio GOP will hire Dr. Frist to declare her in a permanent vegetative state, and have Tom Delay personally pull the plug.

[re=64032]NotUrEvryDayWEzl[/re]: “Hear, hear.”

SuperRounder August 20, 2008 at 1:38 pm

After Bernie Mac, Isaac Hayes, and LeRoi Moore, I knew a black politician was in trouble. But God missed and hit the wrong one, because Alan Keyes appears to be fine.

problemwithcaring August 20, 2008 at 1:40 pm

[re=64023]AngryBlakGuy[/re]: And Black women are particularly
at risk. I lost my aunt two years ago. There are some risk factors for developing aneurysms, and though not listed, I am sure being Black and not an Obama supporter durig the primaries was akin to smoking 10 packs a day.

Oscar Folsom Cleveland August 20, 2008 at 1:41 pm

Well, there goes the Ohio delegation. Queen Hillary wins the nomination. McExxon wins the election. Damn.

Gopherit v2.0 August 20, 2008 at 1:49 pm

[re=64014]loudmouthredhead[/re]: If Karma is really to blame here, I expect to see Lieberman have an aneurysm at the Repub Convention that looks like something out of the movie Scanners.

My condolences to hr family.

Fear of a Black Reagan August 20, 2008 at 1:59 pm

Ooh. Tempting as it is to post “add one more to the Obama deathcount,” I really feel for her and her family.

WhatTheHeck August 20, 2008 at 2:00 pm

This is sad. She overcame many odds but the one lurking in her blood vessel.

itgetter August 20, 2008 at 2:01 pm

CNN just announced that she died. Very sad.

InsidiousTuna August 20, 2008 at 2:05 pm

:(

DemmeFatale August 20, 2008 at 2:07 pm

Well, CNN is now reporting her death. Rest in peace, Stephanie.
Of course some of you are blaming Hillary. How predictable.

Classy, wonketteers, classy.

gulcer August 20, 2008 at 2:10 pm

that’s too bad. i got to know her a bit through a charity bball game my school does with members of congress and law professors. i was her bench-boy for the game, and she was totally cool. she had a great attitude and a larger than life presence. and she coached the other members to a win in triple overtime. she’ll be missed.

GayInMaine August 20, 2008 at 2:15 pm

She was one of the few good ones. Rest in peace, girl.

OneSarcasticMexican August 20, 2008 at 2:21 pm

RIP STJ

Gopherit v2.0 August 20, 2008 at 2:25 pm

[re=64094]itgetter[/re]: Not any more. CNN…..we might get it right eventually.

freeradical August 20, 2008 at 2:29 pm

Very sad. She would tell Repugs where to shove it. Often. She was awesome.

shortsshortsshorts August 20, 2008 at 2:33 pm

[re=64117]DemmeFatale[/re]: blah blah blah :)

No offense, but wouldn’t you?

malvones August 20, 2008 at 2:35 pm

she’s by no means dead, and her campaign hasn’t released any comment

johnbpt August 20, 2008 at 2:40 pm

Um, I think you’re hallucinating. Lay off the drugs or up your dosage or something.

malvones August 20, 2008 at 2:40 pm

i mean staff, not campaign

InsidiousTuna August 20, 2008 at 2:41 pm

Wait, CNN’s saying she’s in critical condition now.

MargeSimpsonsBlackFriend August 20, 2008 at 2:42 pm

Too bad, she was a feisty woman. RIP!

[re=64117]DemmeFatale[/re]: If you are coming here for “classy”, let me assure you that you are lost. The rest of us come here for assholishness and jokes about buttsects.

Sussemilch August 20, 2008 at 2:42 pm

Why must the nice people die, when the evil bastards live on forever?

Gopherit v2.0 August 20, 2008 at 2:45 pm

[re=64194]InsidiousTuna[/re]: And the Cleveland Plain Dealer is is reporting her death.

Fucking media vultures should give people a little room in situations like this.

BigBrainOnBrad August 20, 2008 at 2:48 pm

AP has retracted report of her death:

“EAST CLEVELAND (AP) – Kill the APNewsAlert saying U.S. Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones has died. A doctor says she is in critical condition.”

ToDamPrivilege August 20, 2008 at 2:48 pm

[re=64201]Gopherit v2.0[/re]: PD just changed their story on their site to say she’s alive, but in very critical condition.

Sharked August 20, 2008 at 2:51 pm

She is back alive, bitters.

shortsshortsshorts August 20, 2008 at 3:05 pm

Dead or alive: Isn’t she dreamy?

Gopherit v2.0 August 20, 2008 at 3:11 pm

[re=64223]shortsshortsshorts[/re]: If there were a just and fair god, Lieberman would be 23 hours into 24-Hour Ball Cancer. Instead, he’s killing off decent democrats.

Oscar Folsom Cleveland August 20, 2008 at 3:39 pm

The news link photo shows Tubbs Jones with two other black Vice Presidents of Obama, Kathleen Sibelius and Rae Dawn Chong. Are all three now deceased and/or out of the running?
