  • CHUCK GRASSLEY SUCKS AGAIN: But… but… maybe he’ll reach a compromise that everyone likes! He could still come around! “Aug. 27 (Bloomberg) — Senator Charles Grassley of Iowa, one of three Senate Republicans negotiating on health care, said the soaring federal budget deficit ‘puts a stake in the heart’ of $1 trillion measures being debated in Congress.” Yes, we cannot add to those higher deficit projections for 2009 and 2010 with this health care measure set to launch in 2013. Oh, is everyone at dinner?

Paul Tardy August 27, 2009 at 6:10 pm

Mean while those uppity Brit tards keep trash talking our health care like we didn’t save them during WWII and they wouldn’t have health care to day if we didn’t

Video: The Grapes of Wrath revisited: Healthcare in Tulsa, Oklahoma

Steinbeck? WTF. Somebody got there and look into orphans and work houses. Nyah!

Larry McAwful August 27, 2009 at 6:11 pm

I’m all for having Senator Grassley at the table for health care discussions. Then someone at that table could say, “Chuck, I like mine black with two sugars. And try not to take all morning again, will you?”

SayItWithWookies August 27, 2009 at 6:11 pm

You know, cutting the military budget by 20% for the next ten years would pay for healthcare entirely.

Larry McAwful August 27, 2009 at 6:15 pm

[re=396892]SayItWithWookies[/re]: We’d better do this soon. A few more elections like the last two and there won’t be enough Republican districts to provide the military bases we’ll need to close.

Joshua Norton August 27, 2009 at 6:15 pm

maybe he’ll reach a compromise that everyone likes!

Sure he will. Here’s a repiggie idea of compromise:

“Because, Shut up! That’s why”

Suds McKenzie August 27, 2009 at 6:16 pm

[re=396892]SayItWithWookies[/re]: Plus we could take out the farm subsidies. Lets call it the “Bend Over Mr. Grassley” bill.

chascates August 27, 2009 at 6:17 pm

Grassley, just come out and say it. If Obama can provide decent health care for most citizens Republicans won’t be a majority party for 40 years. And that’s all that you care about.

skippy August 27, 2009 at 6:22 pm

[re=396889]Paul Tardy[/re]: ze uppity Pom is unclear in his understanding that largish chunks of USAans don’t really have a problem with the way things are. I mean, I feel relatively happy that even though my employment based insurance sucks dog balls, at least I’ve got some dog balls to suck compared to those sad sacks in Tulsa.

Scoops McGee August 27, 2009 at 6:23 pm

Lyndon Johnson could take care of this bullshit. Forget about the goddamned Republicans and cut the nuts off any Blue Dog who won’t play with the team. Cut Lieberman’s nuts off, too, just because he doesn’t need them.

drrty martini August 27, 2009 at 6:26 pm

I read that as “reach-around compromise” – because of the cornhole state, and all that.

oldguy August 27, 2009 at 6:27 pm

This is the guy who authored the 2003 Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement, and Modernization Act with its incredible expanding price-tag and total lack of funding. Voodoo medical economics.

I quotes Wikipedia: Former US Comptroller General David M. Walker has called this “…probably the most fiscally irresponsible piece of legislation since the 1960s… because we promise way more than we can afford to keep.”

When are the olds going to figure out that, like everything else over the past 8 years, the Republican aim was to drive every gummint program in sight into the ground by making it unsustainably expensive. Doesn’t cost ANYTHING to run a car if you don’t put gas in it.

Hooray For Anything August 27, 2009 at 6:28 pm

Republicans are so cute when they worry about deficits. They crinkle their nose, nod their heads with concern, wipe the past eight years out of their memory, and start talking about tax cuts. You just want to pat their heads for being so adorable.

rocktonsammy August 27, 2009 at 6:33 pm

Sorry Grassley, no matter how long you stay in the senate and no matter how many dumb things you do or say, you and the others ain’t getting a cool funeral like Teddy is getting.

kdaddy August 27, 2009 at 6:42 pm

Imagine the USA as a fence in your backyard. Then imagine Chuck Grassley as an annoying shit-bird
straddling that fence , crapping on both sides, while it kadoodles into the sky to any other
shit-birds who might want to listen.

Bearbloke August 27, 2009 at 6:51 pm

[re=396887]hoosiermama[/re]: I’m at early breakfast here, babe – I’ve decided to piss off extra early with my chums this morning & catch one of the last snow-days of the season, while I can still afford it!

So, when does Granny Grassley have his Death Panel appt… seems a might bit overdue, no?

[re=396916]Hooray For Anything[/re]: You just want to pat their heads …with an Ebola-soaked sponge.

Barrett808 August 27, 2009 at 7:09 pm

I thought the heart of Republican budget policy was “deficits don’t matter.”

Tommmcatt August 27, 2009 at 7:13 pm

More like “Chuck Grassley sucks constantly“….

Lionel Hutz Esq. August 27, 2009 at 7:32 pm

Dear God, must I wander forever in search of one honest Republican?

trickyrick August 27, 2009 at 7:33 pm

Grassley come to a reasonable compromise? Yeah right, this will happen when pigs can read Glen Becks ‘bestseller’and then twit-twat about it on the intertubes.

TheGryphon August 27, 2009 at 7:39 pm

[re=396959]Lionel Hutz Esq.[/re]: possibly … but you CAN find 10 just men in Soddom – er – LA. you just have to go the right bar ;p

imissopus August 27, 2009 at 7:41 pm

Another man who identified himself as a small-business owner countered that, describing how he struggles with rising health-insurance premiums for his workers. He called on Grassley to support the overhaul in honor of the late Senator Edward Kennedy of Massachusetts, who spent years working on bipartisan health-care compromises.

“What can we do to find common ground?” he said as many in the crowd groaned.”

That’s right Repubtards, let’s not try to work together to solve a crisis. You fuckers should consider yourselves lucky the majority party is so full of pussies they’re terrified of doing what they should do, which is lock you out of the negotiations entirely.

Scoops McGee August 27, 2009 at 7:43 pm

Oh, Chucky….tell us how well the Iowa economy would have done in the last 60 years without all that federal government intervention. The farm states have been sucking the government tit more than anybody else for years now and they can’t survive without it. Yet they produce the same chuckle-headed legislators who vomit this rancid bullshit about their great “spirit of independence”. Somebody needs to tell them who their mama is. What a fucking joke. Go stick a corncob up your ass.

I can’t wait until we get HCR and we never see that wrinkled twat again.

glamourdammerung August 27, 2009 at 8:01 pm

Unfortunately, this nonsense just highlights the fact that the Democrats have such spineless leadership is a bigger problem than Grassley. Even if Obama would play hardball, Reid is not going to be able to roll over fast enough and Pelosi is not much better. I would like to be wrong about Reid being gutless for once, but I really do not see it happening given his past history.

ManchuCandidate August 27, 2009 at 8:02 pm

[re=396967]Scoops McGee[/re]:
Might be time to start cutting Federal Subsidies for Corn. Just saying.

Scoops McGee August 27, 2009 at 8:02 pm

[re=396966]imissopus[/re]: They don’t want to work together, isn’t it obvious at this point? So it’s time for someone in a position of prominence and power to hit them over the head with the truth, again and again and again. Then, maybe the least stupid of them will finally get the idea and change their minds, and that will tip the scales.

And what’s the idea? It’s that taxpayers *already* are paying for health care of the uninsured, but in a patchwork can-you-believe-we’re-actually-doing-this kind of way that takes more money and delivers less care. And they’re worried about who pulls the plug on Grandma. Damn!

Sorry, but I’m just fed up with all this bullshit tonight.

shortsshortsshorts August 27, 2009 at 8:03 pm

Mark Foley is for the pubic option, also.

you August 27, 2009 at 8:06 pm

having listened to him talk nonsense for the last two months or so, the only thing i really know for certain is that you can’t spell grassley without the word ‘ass’

imissopus August 27, 2009 at 8:08 pm

[re=396979]Scoops McGee[/re]: Oh, I thought it was obvious around January 21. The groaning doesn’t surprise me, but it still managed to piss me off. Of course it’s a hundred degrees here today and having to move is pissing me off.

glamourdammerung August 27, 2009 at 8:10 pm

[re=396978]ManchuCandidate[/re]: If only the Democratic leadership was not so spineless.

It is also time for the government to stop supporting Oklahomas…whatever the fuck it is that comes from Oklahoma.

glamourdammerung August 27, 2009 at 8:23 pm

Also, all of these problems could be solved by sending Biden to Senator Reid, Grassley, Inhofe, and Enzi’s house to punch them in the crotch. Repeat daily until the Senators get with the program.

S.Luggo August 27, 2009 at 8:45 pm

Exclude the Public Option.
Keep Iowa’s state hospitals running.
Profit.

You dirty fucking commie. We do that & Mexico + Canada will invade & we’ll all be speaking a curious amalgam of French & Spanish, taking hme our small but legal amounts of coke & pot while being covered by universal health insurance. Is that what you want? Cuz that’s what’ll happen.

artbot2000 August 27, 2009 at 10:22 pm

Yeah, we can’t afford universal healthcare because we have to pay for Chuck’s ethanol subsidy first. No socialism for us.

Mr Blifil August 27, 2009 at 10:37 pm

My kid had corn in his poop the other day. I thought of Chuck.

shortsshortsshorts August 27, 2009 at 11:08 pm

[re=397013]artbot2000[/re]: The fucker breaths ethanol. He wakes up in the morning and his staffer’s probably have to carry him to the chamber. It’s unfortunate that he may or may not be a raging ethanol-drunk trying to plague us all with his ineptitude, but we will never know.

There are spurious rumors that he is addicted to a new form of Oxycontin that sends a quiver down the spine of even the worst dope-addicts. There are other rumors floating around that he bought a horse, fucked the shit out of it, and then skinned and sold the Hyde for 10 cents on the dollar to support this alleged and unfounded ethanol addiction. We can only hope that the Grassley campaign fights these accusations to the teeth, and that the tea bagger people who have bothered him to the core do not receive the memo about this. After all, he is the King of Corn. You don’t fuck with corn.

shortsshortsshorts August 28, 2009 at 12:42 am

NO OFFENSE to Grassley. You are banging up the job. Er doing a bang up jawb.

What a hypocrite. I’m sure he’d be creaming himself to add to the deficit if it were in the form of eternal tax cuts. What a douche.

aleks August 28, 2009 at 6:38 am

[re=396900]chascates[/re]: Grassley is nowhere near that broad minded in whom he’s looking out for. He doesn’t care about hurting the Republican Party per se, he cares about what they’d do to him.

DoctorCulturae August 28, 2009 at 8:27 am

glamourdammerung: Interesting. Of anyone currently in gov’t that is the heir of Kennedy’s gravitas it is Biden or maybe Dodd. My current fantasy is Joey B making one of those VP Darth-like trips to the Senate to say to a particular clique, “Okay, Teddy’s gone. We’ve got to use the pair we got. Grab’em boys cuz here we go.”

And btw, where’s Rahm? Oh Ra-ahm! Time to fire up the bulldozer. You know, channel LBJ.

If the HCB fails it may become evident the only Dem who has had any balls at all the last 30 years was Kennedy who went all legislative on them. He just may have been holding up the entire house of cards on his own. Pitiful, also.

zhubajie August 28, 2009 at 8:33 am

How come Grassley isn’t at the Iowa State Fair, competing in the Biggest Boar Contest?

gurukalehuru August 28, 2009 at 9:03 am

Inhofe (R-Oklahoma) and congresspunk Marshall (D-crackerbarrel, GA) Both said at Town Hall Meetings that they are going to vote NO on anything at all, because they’re retarded.

Marmel August 28, 2009 at 10:00 am

Screw Grassley.

They have less than two months before the Dems do what they were elected to do anyway.

http://marmel.com/2009/08/dear-fringe-folk-you-have-until-october-15th-before-the-door-hits-you-in-the-butt-on-the-way-out-of-health-care-negotiations/

And if the Dems CAN’T pull that off, then they deserve what happens to them in 2010.
