  • JUST A LITTLE ONE-SENTENCE REMINDER ABOUT THE FUNDAMENTAL PROBLEM FACING AMERICA FOREVER: We award nine million “succinctness points” to beloved CBO director Doug Elmendorf: “The country faces a fundamental disconnect between the services the people expect the government to provide, particularly in the form of benefits for older Americans, and the tax revenues that people are willing to send to the government to finance those services.” Blah blah blah, whatever, Elfinwhore. Disconnection unnecessary, see Ron Paul. Magic Libertarian Pixie Dust covers all.

An old geezer with benefits? Thanks, but I’ll pass.

slappypaddy November 12, 2009 at 5:56 pm

the country faces a fundamental disconnect between the looting and pillaging engaged in by the powerful and the ability of the masses to continue to tolerate and support said robbery.

Georgia Burning November 12, 2009 at 6:02 pm

Just order those $1297 hammers from me instead of Lockheed and I’m fine.

DustBowlBlues November 12, 2009 at 6:05 pm

Maybe it’s time for the congressional Democrats to demand the Republics come up with a way to pay for the fucking war they all think is so keeping our freedoms safe. Ask the old fucks in the VFW for their ideas.

Since 1980, the Republics have won elections by promising Americans-vote for us, pay no taxes, (20 years longer than that in OK), because govt is free, right?

So this whole shitty mess is their fault–along with the banking failures. Case closed. For, me anyway. The Wonkeratti will never let that dickhead forget his comma faux pas. If he read the wonkette.

Brendan M. November 12, 2009 at 6:06 pm

There’s a fundamental disconnect between my balls and your chin, too, Elmendork. So are we gonna rectify that, as well?

JesusButter November 12, 2009 at 6:07 pm

It’s okay, because the faith-based programs will take care of us all.

This yet again shows, RWers aren’t necessarily stupid, but stupid people are RWers.

The service bone’s disconnected from the benefits bone, the benefits bone’s disconnected from the tax bone…

slappypaddy November 12, 2009 at 6:24 pm

[re=457398]DustBowlBlues[/re]: “Ask the old fucks in the VFW for their ideas.”

the old fucks in the VFW are pissed off. they know the bush league betrayed the younger generation of the military by lying and sending them into the wrong war in the wrong place against the wrong enemy and then fucking up the management of it. they know the bush league was run by dodgers who didn’t have a shit’s clue what it meant to fight in a war. and they know the congress holds both democrats and republicans who didn’t do near enough to stop this fubar.

they know the country and ideals they served when they were younger has been bankrupted morally and economically by its government. they know there is nothing ahead for us but hard choices that our leaders are too craven to make. they know that all other things being equal, most of them get to die before most of us and get to leave this shit-hole situation behind.

WadISay November 12, 2009 at 6:28 pm

For real right wingers, there’s a simple way to connect insufficient revenues with expenditures: tax cuts. Ask them something hard.

Mr Blifil November 12, 2009 at 6:31 pm

“There is a fundamental disconnect between the desire to create penetration and the effort required to comfortably allow penetration.”

There I fixed it.

bitchincamaro November 12, 2009 at 6:34 pm

What does this have to do with the price of TruckNutz?

Servo November 12, 2009 at 6:46 pm

Killing grandma is looking more and more appealing.

Hooray For Anything November 12, 2009 at 6:49 pm

[re=457390]slappypaddy[/re]: I think by “robbery” don’t you mean “freedom?” I mean that’s what Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin keep telling me it is.

slappypaddy November 12, 2009 at 6:54 pm

[re=457456]Hooray For Anything[/re]: well, it is just another word for nothing left to lose.

loquaciousmusic November 12, 2009 at 7:06 pm

W.E.B. Du Bois once said that the problem of the twentieth century was the problem of the “color-line.”

It’s nice to know that the problem of the twenty-first century is that “everyone has gone fucking insane.”

DemmeFatale November 12, 2009 at 7:12 pm

Maybe I don’t get it, (illuminate me please), but it seems that the mouth-breathers feel entitled to “something for nothing” all the time.(Especially the olds.)

thefrontpage November 12, 2009 at 7:19 pm

Hey, the C Street House just sent out an e-vite for its annual “Grope Meeting” on Wednesday, Nov. 25, and the invited guests are Charles Lincoln III, Michelle Malkin and Zac Efron.

The theme is “lower taxes,” and there will be a five-minute discussion.

Everyone’s invited. No cost. No media.

DemmeFatale November 12, 2009 at 7:24 pm

OT, but…
Yay!! Soon that horrible Pelsoi/Satan gif will be off the page!

It was always appealing; now it’s in the national interest. Let’s Roll.

comicbookguy November 12, 2009 at 7:54 pm

Hence the winning campaign slogan, “Can’t somebody else do it?”

Servo November 12, 2009 at 8:35 pm

[re=457471]DemmeFatale[/re]:
Something for nothing, indeed. You’ve seen the commercials aimed at the olds. Every health service and device offered “at no cost” to them. They’re either too ignorant or too righteous to understand that the freebies have finally broken the financial backs of their children.
Sorry, grandma. The fuckin’ free ride is fuckin’ over!

Dean Booth November 12, 2009 at 9:01 pm

Fixed: “The country faces a fundamental disconnect between the wars the people expect the government to fight and the tax revenues that people are willing to send to the government to finance those wars.”

Elmendorf needs to take the benefits for granted, not the weapons and bombs and killing and maiming.

Dean Booth November 12, 2009 at 9:10 pm

I’m gonna try again cause I’m pissed.

You give me $100 to buy you dinner. I spend $99 on guns to kill brown people and get you a hotdog. When you complain, I say if you want better food, you need to give me more money.

Screw that.

donner_froh November 12, 2009 at 9:31 pm

“the country faces a fundamental disconnect between the looting and pillaging engaged in by the powerful and the ability of the masses to continue to tolerate and support said robbery.”

This needs repeating. Forever. In Bold. Also.

Really, adding anything else would be a crime. There is no “but”, here.

[re=457513]Servo[/re]: Don’t talk to grandpa that way! He gave you free rides all the time, remember? Wheeeeee!

montyburns4prez November 13, 2009 at 9:37 am

What he is saying is to pay for the services you want? That’s just liburl talking points.

In the immortal words of William Shakespeare (Much Ado about Nothing, II, iii):

Don’t Tax You, don’t Tax me;
Tax the person behind that tree.

Whatever, nerd. Let’s just bomb Iran and cut taxes. It’ll be fine.
