Does the Gatway Pundit talk about the London airport?

I couldn’t even get to a comment post earlier today [Gatway Pundit], so yes, I must say, something or someone is slamming this site.

ladies, Jim is on the prowel again.

canadasteve December 8, 2009 at 4:49 pm

I wonder how you say ‘Vagina Monologues’ in Pashtun?

Sharkey December 8, 2009 at 4:51 pm

Don’t smoke it Riley, you know that’s a gatway drug.

SayItWithWookies December 8, 2009 at 4:55 pm

RedState’s gonna blow this whole climate fraud thing wide open. I hear they’re about to release some secret video footage of a leading climate scientist wearing a coat.

snideinplainsight December 8, 2009 at 4:56 pm

What’s at the bottom of all this?

Pure, naked power.

V572625694 December 8, 2009 at 4:57 pm

[re=474263]canadasteve[/re]: Not sure you say “Vagina Monologues” in Pashtun, but you only say it once before they cut your tongue out, infidel!

mightysea December 8, 2009 at 5:02 pm

OK, can someone normal explain what the hell they’re talking about with the code thing?

Mr Blifil December 8, 2009 at 5:06 pm

Red State users never met a fudge factor they didn’t want to smear all over their faces and extremities.

canadasteve December 8, 2009 at 5:07 pm

V572625694: I’m gay, so I guess I’d be safe!

Jim89048 December 8, 2009 at 5:11 pm

Wait. was this the homework they assigned to Riley?
STOP HOME-SKOOLING RILEY JEEBUS CHRIST, KEN!

zenferret December 8, 2009 at 5:21 pm

[re=474276]mightysea[/re]: Well reading the code and looking at the “hockey stick” it is quite obvious why the guy is a manager and not an engineer.

He claims that as an “agnostic” he doesn’t care about the politics. This is an agnostic the way Lou Dobbs is an independent.

He is claiming that the some magic was applied that made the rapid rise in temperature actually happen. The problem is the “fudge factor” numbers he claims were responsible for the rapid rise don’t align with the rapid rise. The temperatures rapid rise if after the fudge factor numbers level off. At best you could claim that the fudge factor made it seem like the whole thing started earlier.

Okay that wasn’t really a normal explanation.

I’ll try again.

He’s full of shit.

Better?

Sharkey December 8, 2009 at 5:21 pm

[re=474276]mightysea[/re]: It’s just a bunch of random ones and zeros.

Extemporanus December 8, 2009 at 5:24 pm

“Fudge Factor” is the reality show where diabetic fatties do stuff like bob for chocolate covered cockroaches in tubs of Hershey’s syrup, right?

Sussemilch December 8, 2009 at 5:29 pm

Red State, gotta love ‘em. They thought changing Pluto’s designation as a planet was an attack on abstinence.

Extemporanus December 8, 2009 at 5:29 pm

[re=474289]Jim89048[/re]: You didn’t think Fagin was gonna let him work for Ken full-time, did you?

norbizness December 8, 2009 at 5:46 pm

[re=474312]Sussemilch[/re]: If that’s the case, absence would make the heart grow fonder. I still marvel at the necessity of sending that pack of dumbfucks a bunch of page-views.

betterDeadThanRed December 8, 2009 at 6:17 pm

[re=474276]mightysea[/re]: Stand back! I am an actual software engineer! What this means is that scientists generally make bad computer programmers and looking at this code gave me a headache. And also the fudge factor had nothing to do with the part of the graph that is going up sharply.

RoscoePColtraine December 8, 2009 at 7:21 pm

Regarding the couple getting the divorce, with the husband demanding reimbursement for the new boobs he bought his wife, I think it would be kind of funny if she made a list of all the times she let him play with them, and assigned a fee for each instance. Sort of like admission to the amusement park. It would be all made up, of course, totally intended as a joke, but somehow she could calculate the amount due her husband to be around $0.43 or some such silliness. Then she could walk into court, set two quarters in front of him and say, “keep the change, peckerwood.”

No?

DC Hates Me December 8, 2009 at 7:49 pm

Ski slopes and hockey sticks are proof of global cooling, not warming.

BarackMyWorld December 8, 2009 at 8:00 pm

Wasn’t Joe Wilson yelling “You lie!” because of the immigration issue, not the abortion issue?

comicbookguy December 8, 2009 at 8:11 pm

[re=474379]RoscoePColtraine[/re]: Maybe offer him a dollar for one last feel.

[re=474351]betterDeadThanRed[/re]: I’m just glad we have the computer simulation experts at redstate to analyze this for us. Remember when they couldn’t find anyone to upgrade their website for free? yeah, those guys.

comicbookguy December 8, 2009 at 8:20 pm

[re=474391]BarackMyWorld[/re]: YOU LIE!!!

Joey Ratz December 8, 2009 at 8:27 pm

[re=474289]Jim89048[/re]: Seriously. Nobody should be forced to read Gateway Pundit. If Jim Hoft isn’t the dumbest motherfucker on the internet, the human race is doomed.

Dontread December 8, 2009 at 8:28 pm

[re=474303]zenferret[/re]: Well done! Sounds good to me. Esp. the (they are) “full of shit” part.

rottenart December 8, 2009 at 8:32 pm

What is both endlessly amusing and frustrating to me is that these knobs think it’s a conspiracy when virtually the ENTIRE world save their 18-25% of the US population is lined up against and utterly opposed to what they spout as “rhetoric” concerning AGW. Let’s see… yup: ~6.47b people is, in fact > than 4m. These conspiracies run deep, I tells ya!

On a completely related matter, is dear Riley perchance hard at work on a WYSIWYG editor for commenting purposes? Cuz that would be awesome… no imbed button for pics, I fear, otherwise this place would look something like /b/ on the Potomac, but…other buttons maybe?

imissopus December 8, 2009 at 8:39 pm

So Obama would like women to be able to utilize a constitutionally protected right even if the anti-abortion crowd does not like that said right? Hey I’d like my tax dollars to not go towards subsidizing bags of Cheetos for some fat ass wingnut in Arkansas who thinks Jeebus will keep him from getting a heart attack, but once I send my check to the IRS I don’t really have a choice, do I?

Sharkey December 8, 2009 at 9:37 pm

[re=474351]betterDeadThanRed[/re]: And that if you delete a certain section of code, then whatever functionality was there is also deleted?

SmutBoffin December 8, 2009 at 9:39 pm

[re=474276]mightysea[/re]: Sometimes, the output of a model needs to be scaled to bring it in line with actual, physical values. The “fudge factor”* used to do this is typically an empirical relationship or constant. This happens 1000000 times a day in research institutions everywhere. RedState, of course, is out of the loop when it comes to knowin’ stuff.

*This is widely used terminology. The technical-ish German term is ansatz. Those Germans do have a word for everything!

lawrenceofthedesert December 9, 2009 at 12:31 am

The “fudge factor” seemed to be what the ArmorGroup guys were enjoying.

petehammer December 9, 2009 at 12:47 am

[re=474391]BarackMyWorld[/re]: Yes. Though it is hard to know exactly what was going on in his horrible giant head.

Potater December 9, 2009 at 6:39 am

Gatway:
“You can’t spell lying, marxist, anti- America, anti free speech, tyrant wanna-be POS without …O-b-a-m-a.”

…I don’t think the “b” really counts if it’s from the word “be.”

comicbookguy December 9, 2009 at 9:35 am

I think the argument is that scientists are corrupted by the massive amounts of money in research grants and university salaries. Maybe if we pared down our nation’s science and education budget to be on par with the patriotic and corruption-free defense industry, we would have better science that wasn’t plague with the problems we see today (i.e. telling us we our actions have consequences).

Colin Firth-Certificate December 9, 2009 at 11:51 am

redstate wants to “peg” manbearpig.

GaryLawrence December 9, 2009 at 12:11 pm

I may be wrong, but it looks to me that the “fudge factor” is being applied to the data output by the model, so that the model’s data will be in accord with observed temperatures. If this is the case, then the horror is that even after we account for all the processes we know about and incorporate them into the climate model, we are unable to account for all of the recent temperature rise. Climate models predict an unprecedented catastrophe, but apparently the facts are even worse.
