  • ACORN PAYS OFF JUDGE TO RULE IN ITS FAVOR: Oh look, a hippie Brooklyn judge has found Congress’ greatest legislative move of the year — to cut off all funding to low-income housing organization ACORN after Internet aggregator Andrew Breitbart and a couple of dipshit college Republicans made a wacky, heavily edited prank YouTube — to be a bill of attainder, which is explicitly unconstitutional. Time to pass a bill of attainder against this hippie Brooklyn judge? [NYDN]

I’d like to see Joe Lieberschmuck get some “Brooklyn Justice” too, preferably from a couple of beefy Local 3 pipefitters.

Reminder to self: never play along with a glaringly obvious hoax, because it just may be used to demonize my entire organization.

I wouldn’t be so sure hippies bought the judge off. There’s only so many “the Poor Should Eat Gruel” and “Is Obama Going to Kill Your Grandmother” stories FOX could show over the day. Something’s gotta fill 24 hours of airtime.

Is Judge Gershon implying that the idiots who passed a law harming an organization based only on heavily-edited amateur videos and a lot of talk-show nonsense should have READ THE CONSTITUTION before they went with their knee-jerk reaction? Do you know what would happen if everybody had to be familiar with the law of the land before they became legislators? That’s right — fascist elitism.

Someone must have given him a lot of free cookies. I think he should expect a lot of teabaggers playing dead in his courtroom in his future.

This is a huge WIN for the Left because ACORN funding is pretty much the number one priority.

queeraselvis v 2.0 December 14, 2009 at 3:11 pm

Cue right-wing “ZOMFG JUDGE GERSHON IS A PANSY-ASS COMMIE SYMPATHIZER ON ACORN’S PAYROLL” nuclear meltdown in 3…2…

It’s all to be part of a new Jonah Goldberg novel, “Bill of Attainder Is The Night.” Soon to be a major motion picture, with Jonah portrayed by Queen Latifah.

[re=477740]queeraselvis v 2.0[/re]: You haven’t read the comments on the Daily News article, have you?

They did it thirty-five minutes ago.

Okay, bill of attainder…what is it? Why, it is an act of the legislature declaring a person or group of persons guilty of some crime and punishing them without benefit of a trial.

Can we haz a bill of attainder for Joe Lieberman, pleeez?

queeraselvis v 2.0 December 14, 2009 at 3:30 pm

[re=477750]JMP[/re]: I was thinking more globally, but yea, it took all of three comments on the Daily News board to get there, didn’t it?

Advocatus_Diaboli December 14, 2009 at 3:30 pm

Worse still, ACORN bribed the judge with tax dollars specifically collected from Glen Beck!!@@@111@#!11

McDuff December 14, 2009 at 3:44 pm

Bills of attainder are unconstitutional! So, what, I FEEL that ACRON is commie and bad and pro-Obama that’s ‘nough for any GOOD authentic American like me to want them to be sent to Gitmo!!

Did I get the Sarah Palin Facebook post right?

CaiteeCruelle December 14, 2009 at 3:53 pm

[re=477785]McDuff[/re]: A little too eleetist for that crowd. It should be “Bills of attainder IS unconstitutional”, for one thing.

JMP December 14, 2009 at 4:09 pm

[re=477801]CaiteeCruelle[/re]: Also, I’m pretty sure Palin could not spell “attainder” correctly.

comicbookguy December 14, 2009 at 4:37 pm

Sarah Palin is here to give you the view from Main Street. The Constitution is just another Washington insider.

petehammer December 14, 2009 at 6:00 pm

“Bills of Attainder”? It’s like being back in Bar prep.

How can we expect such esoteric legal mumbo-jumbo to be properly interpreted by your average Joe Senator? These guys aren’t lawyers, after all; they’re straight shootin’ Washington outsiders.

engulfedinflames December 14, 2009 at 7:19 pm

Since ACORN is solely responsible for the election of one of their own to the highest office in the land is anyone really surprised by this?

Mr Blifil December 14, 2009 at 10:53 pm

Wait, Gina Gershon became a judge? Damn, that makes me want to “appear before her.”

Best. Live. Evah. Also.

[re=478196]Mr Blifil[/re]: Yes, I’d like to be “prosecuted with extreme prejudice” in the court of Gine Gershon. Sounds derrty; don’t it?

Leftie Lucy December 15, 2009 at 9:58 am

[re=477801]CaiteeCruelle[/re]: Nuh-uh. Needs to be “bill of attainders are unconstitutional.” You wouldn’t expect her to say “attorneys general,” would you?
