Today we are all Miley Cyrus’ songwriter.
(Her next album will be an upbeat country pop collection about buttseks, gingers and warblogging).
Make Miley Cyrus go away.
Now.
Thank you.
Matt Yglesias actually uses the phrase “normatively valorizable” talking about Miley Cyrus.
This makes him deserving of having a 3000hp Shop Vac connected to his brain stem, so that his Harvard education can be sucked out and injected into someone — anyone — more deserving.
Riley, I don’t know abou you but the Miley Cyrus comparisson worked for me. Yglesias was saying that Ponnuru and Lowry’s arguments were sooooo absurd, he’s gonna let Miley debate them.
On board this afternoon, we will have our first scintillating seminar (Maybe as Dick Morris, Ralph Reed, and Bill McGurn discuss the upcoming elections with Kate O’Beirne), followed by a revelrous cocktail reception and a gourmet meal.
Kate would be well advised to count her toes after that cock/tail revelry.
A couple friends of mine have been to Portugal and say that newbies get some sort of vicious stomach virus (or at least are more susceptible to it) for a couple of weeks. Nevertheless, sending K-Lo and Mukasey there might be seen as overkill — especially when accompanied by that little toe-sucking gnome Dick Morris. He’ll go anywhere that expensive shrimp is on the menu.
I like Cyrus’ attempt to present herself a normal country girl who’s suddenly made it big in LA. Yeah, it’s not like she grew up as the rich daughter of a guy who made a shitload of money off a horrible, horrible song, and then despite being a joke of a one-wonder managed to resurrect his career as horrible (though not as horrible as his singing) actor.
[re=533428]SayItWithWookies[/re]: If Dick comes aboard K-Lo’s boat, it will result in a Mukasey discharge.
Their gonna need a Bigger Boat.

Suck on it, Repugs.
Any cruise Dick Morris is on will be “no shoes required.”
K Lo on a boat–talk about “motion in the Ocean”. Pass the Dramamine…
As a librarian, yesterday my inbox was full of news about the 23 seasons of downloadable C-SPAN…FREE. I almost fainted from excitement…the excitement of realizing yet again I work in the nerdiest profession on earth.
[re=533414]Joshua Norton[/re]: Seriously. I woke up today and her movie was on the tv yada yada yada Fastest remote control grab/change in the world.
Yglesias blingee!
Hey, we’re all going to get free acupuncture. Cool. Actually, that video will make little impression on the teabag crowd. Too many big words.
[re=533417]memzilla[/re]: Didn’t you just summarize Pi?
(Fuck. It’s amazing how Aronofsky has only gotten worse.)
To think I assumed that Miley Cyrus was just another Pop Tart. But now I know that she is, like, totally deep and a philosopher and stuff.
That C-SPAN thing is a joke. I can’t find the video of the time that Tom DeLay tea bagged Lincoln Chafee, on the floor of the Senate, on the actual floor.
So I’m actually glad I clicked on RedState, because I found this wonderful comment (I am not making this up):
Will the American citizens stand and fight as our great Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Guardsmen, and United States Marines, past and present, always stand and fight for our sacred liberty? This is a seminole moment in American history…Our soldiers are willing to die for this country’s preservation. Shall we not stand up on their behalf while they face bullets and bombs so we do not have to?

[re=533434]JMP[/re]: Come on now, his singing career is still meteoric…
[re=533417]memzilla[/re]: Matthew learned to erect firewall phrases like “normatively valorizable” to insulate himself from actual thinking. Thinking takes too much time. The whole “our culture can be explained in its entirety by listening to Black Sabbath” approach to writing, first inflicted by Rolling Stone in the 1970′s when it ran out of intelligent pop music to cover, has leaked into other nether regions of journalism.
I just heard that Oily Taintz is running for CA Secretary of State. Why the hell hasn’t she produced her damn birth certificate?
[re=533593]Katydid[/re]: Today we will all have Seminole moments.
