Congressman Gibbons wants to be governor of Nevada, but he keeps doing weird things like getting drunk with a cocktail waitress (not his wife) and allegedly assaulting said drunken Vegas gal — or, at the very least, trying to stuff her in a pickup truck so she could safely drive away.
The new scandal is actually an old scandal that has just been revealed. Mr. Tough On Illegal Immigrants “Close the Border” Gibbons apparently employed an illegal Latina nanny for years. That seems almost quaint compared to this campaign season’s endless outrage, but it’s still a crime and he’s still a scum-sucking hypocrite.
Also, reporter Molly Ball at the Las Vegas Review Journal doesn’t like Wonkette writing about police reports and Congress without giving her proper credit. After all, we only linked to her stories in our very first post about WaitressGate: Ms. Ball writes: “I broke this story…and the rest of them, for the record.” Well, we’ll be fucked! She didn’t just “break” the Gibbons story, she broke all news stories
But at least Molly and her peers down in Vegas are covering the story. The Gibbons Nightmare is almost totally ignored in Northern Nevada — the Republican-leaning District 2 that includes the whole state beyond Vegas/Clark County. Gibbons is based in the Reno suburb of Sparks, and Reno/Sparks arguably has the worst daily paper in America. It took a week for the paper to even mention the Vegas Scandal. A phone call from Congressman Jim was obviously enough to keep the story buried up north, where the electorate tilts just right enough to possibly give him a very slim victory.
Anyway, the Waitress herself is supposed to give a press conference later today. Let us know how that goes, Molly!

Gibbons isn't the Lone Ranger here.
Ed Goedhart, erstwhile manager of the Amargosa Dairy here in Nye county is running for State Assembly, District 36 and talking a good game about his tough-on-immigration stance while at the same time being quite possibly the largest individual employer of undocumented workers in the county.
Now fer some gosh durn reason the newspaper folks 'roun here jes' don't seem to want to know about this. Go figger.
This alleged sex scandal will pale when the Gibbons employment of an undocumented alien breaks nationally. Check out KLAS-TV.com -- it's all there, documents, photos, interviews, the whole sick thing. From a candidate who campaigned on getting "tough on illegal immigration" and on employers who hired them, this is far sadder than any alleged sex scandal. When does the hypocrisy stop? When will the lying end? This man does not deserve to be governor of a state!
New Jersey is about to ruin it for the Dems. And it is not the Menedez thing. Rumor has it that NJ will legalizing gay marriage this morning. Jeez, the NJ Supreme Court could not wait two weeks before giving people more rights?

Gibbons Gate and Gibbons Nanny Gate! The fun never ends. Thomas, I was so hoping that was an photo of Gibbons in his pajama bottoms in the trailer in Sparks before he met Dawn, the little woman who save his life.
At least Dawn and Jim tried to help Sandoval become a citizen instead of kicking her out of the house with just the clothes on her back and a $2 bill. I guess they got tired of hiding her in the basement. Damn illegals.

Jim Gibbons is a typical right-wing conservative. He says one thing and does the opposite. He feels he doesn't have to follow the law like the rest of us. It appears the Republican Party is full of people like Gibbons. The brain-dead northern part of the state (Reno & Carson City) and the "cow counties" will more than likely put Gibbons in the governor's office. Wow! So much for having a clue!
