Ted Stevens Still Amazed, Terrified by Intercontinental Telegraphy

He doesn't realise how lucky he is: The last time someone sent me a whole internet it took aaaaaaaaaaages to download.
He also explained how the internet (presumably one he hasn't been sent yet) is made of tubes; what is it with Republicans trying to control everyone's tubes, be they fallopian, aluminium or ethernet?

I've read his statement 5 times (including the full text at the linked site) and I still don't understand WTF he's talking about...
You would think that AT&T and Verizon would have at least coached him a little better!
Perhaps he'd favor the bill if it called for building an Internet to nowhere.

It always amazes me that we have people making decisions about technology that seemingly have zero knowledge about how it works. Damn, he couldn't even get the terms right.
