Virginia Mom Begs Voters Not To Let Toni Morrison Kill More White Children With Words

Glenn Youngkin, the Republican candidate for Virginia governor, has unleashed his own version of a Willie Horton ad against Democrat Terry McAuliffe. This is his intro to the damning video he shared on Twitter:

What's it like to have Terry McAuliffe block you from having a say in your child's education? This mom knows – she lived through it. Watch her powerful story. #VAgov

The mother is Laura Murphy, and she looks like she's been through hell ... presumably because of McAuliffe's actions as governor. Let's go with that.

MURPHY: As a parent, it's hard to catch everything, so when my son showed me his reading assignment, my heart sunk. It was some of the most explicit material you could imagine.

Then we see her white lady hands clutching what I assume are invisible pearls.

MURPHY: I met with lawmakers. They couldn't believe what I was showing them. Their faces turned bright red with embarrassment. They passed bills requiring schools to notify parents when explicit content was assigned. It was bipartisan. It gave parents a say! The option to choose an alternative. I was so grateful. And then Gov. Terry McAullife vetoed it!

Oh no! As she shares her disappointment, we see an image of her with her very white family dressed in white at the beach.

This ad is unbelievable, literally.

Jan. 6 Organizers Say GOP Rep. Paul Gosar Promised Them Blanket Pardons, Very Legal, Very Cool

Nine months after the events of January 6, we are now officially starting to hit the Trouble In Paradise stage, in which those responsible for what went down start to roll on each other. Last week, we found out that one of the Capitol rioters was maybe planning to defend his innocence by saying he thought he was authorized to invade the Capitol and tase a cop by Donald Trump, just like how a couple of the Watergate burglars thought they were authorized to break into Daniel Ellsberg's psychiatrist's office.

Now, Rolling Stone has published an article in which two of the people involved with organizing the protest at the Ellipse tell all about the involvement of several Republican legislators in the planning of that and other "Stop the Steal" rallies.

Florida Surgeon General Demands Freedom To Breathe On State Senator With Cancer

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis's new surgeon general Joseph Ladapo isn't just a weapon of mass disinformation about COVID-19. He's also a creep who's seemingly incapable of basic human courtesy.

Ladapo requires confirmation from Florida's state Senate and was making the rounds last week when he reportedly stopped by Democratic Sen. Tina Polsky's office. Polsky was diagnosed with Stage One breast cancer in August, so had good reason to request Ladapo put on a mask and not shower her with his breath droplets. This is a simple request, like buttoning your fly, but Ladapo refused, because he's an asshole. That's our theory, at least.

Florida Politics reports:

"I told him I had a serious medical condition," said Polsky, who will begin radiation therapy treatment for cancer next week.

She has fucking cancer! Ladapo couldn't act like a decent human for five minutes. Instead, he suggested they take it outside. Polsky, who we've mentioned has cancer, didn't want to go outside. Sometimes, you prefer to remain comfortably seated in your climate-controlled office, like when you have cancer. There was a brief back-and-forth, and Polsky asked Ladapo why he wouldn't just wear a mask for their meeting.

Who's Kyrsten Sinema Being A Dick To Now? Oh Just Her Constituents

Same same.

It's really becoming a thing lately that if it's a day, there's probably a story out there about Arizona Senator Kyrsten Sinema, a Democrat, being a dick.

So here's one, though it appears this video was taken yesterday. It's Senator Sinema walking through the airport with GOP Senator Tim Scott from South Carolina, a verified asshole, on her right. And golly, she was just RIVETED by whatever he was saying.

On Sinema's left, a constituent from Arizona, who was calmly but persistently asking her questions, like people do with their elected officials.

Oh Sh*t, Dallas Teacher Did A Critical Race Theory To The Texas Wingnuts!

YOU get a critical race theory and YOU get a critical race theory!

Back in September, a rightwing Texas group decided that the state's stupid law banning the teaching of "critical race theory" in schools was a good step, but it fretted that despite the law, the Dallas Independent School District probably had a lot of teachers secretly indoctrinating students. The outfit, calling itself "Save Texas Kids," suspected plenty of teachers were still teaching American history, or even using novels by Black people that might be critical of our perfectly fair and equal nation that is dedicated to equality as long as you aren't too loud about it.

So it did what any patriotic group might: It went full East Germany, and emailed teachers in the Dallas ISD to encourage them to snitch on any colleagues who might be breaking the law by teaching CRT, and any faculty who might be telling them to, even though critical race theory is an area of study in graduate programs and law schools.

Save Our Kids president Natalie Cato (no relation to the Institute or the Roman historian, as far as we know) also asked school employees to report coworkers who promoted "predatory gender fluidity," although as far as we can tell that's not illegal even in Texas, even if the state has banned transgender kids from being on school sports teams that match their gender identity.

Fox News Apparently Pro-Riot Now So Long As It’s About Spreading COVID-19

The network’s hypocrisy isn’t a surprise.

Anti-vax protesters swarmed New York City's Barclay Center Sunday in support of Brooklyn Nets player Kyrie Irving, who they seem to believe has a constitutional right to play professional basketball while unvaccinated. Muhammad Ali was a courageous conscientious objector to an unjust war, and Irving is, well, a goofball who objects to needles.

According to the New York Post's Brian Lewis, the protesters chanted “Stand with Kyrie" (I hope not too closely). I'd love to know how those anti-vax protesters felt about the NFL blackballing Colin Kaepernick because he knelt during the National Anthem.
