A Good Time to Visit Your Capitol
If you've ever wished to see the Capitol without writhing hordes of school-aged children blocking your view, then late Friday afternoon seems to be a good time. The lines are minimal, and you can actually get a good look at the fancy new visitor center that cost America $621 million.
All that money bought you a lovely subterranean Capitol Visitor Center and the ability to book tours without contacting your congressperson (though you still have to go through your representative if you want passes to the House or Senate gallery). The center is open Monday through Saturday, 8: 30AM to 4:30PM, and you can schedule a visit as late as 3:20PM here.
