A Very Special Message From Senator Joe Biden
Hello, I'm Joe Biden, and I'd like to wish you all a very happy Black History Month. As some of you may know, some of my best friends are black, and I appreciate the opportunity to celebrate them each and every year for 28, and occasionally 29 days.
While it's true that I'm known to celebrate Delaware's slave-owning roots every now and then, I like to think that ties into the whole Colored People History Month thing. I mean, why just remember the good stuff?
But those dark days are behind us, at least when I'm making a public appearance north of the Mason-Dixon. Today, I'm proud to say, you can't walk into a 7-11 without seeing an articulate and clean black man.
And when I am president, I promise to give these clean, articulate black people a couple days in March, so that their history month is as long as everyone else's. Of course, March is Women's History Month, so maybe we can spend those crossover days celebrating Oprah.
