So the Bush administration went out and got themselves their own military mom, eh? Excellent! Bush pointed her out in the crowd at yesterday's speech, saying "America lives in freedom because of families like the Pruetts." Later, Mrs. Pruett told reporters, "We don’t feel like we’re out here trying to be a poster family." Guess Bush didn't get the memo. But her caution is justified; though the Pruetts have four sons still in Iraq, none of them have died. What kind of advance work is that? Or maybe there's an actuarial calculus here we're not aware of. Four sons at risk = one dead? What if you have two that have been maimed? Between this and the competing fields of crosses, we're thinking that if anyone was going to speak for they dead, they'd just ask both sides to stop.
