Last week, we brought you the disturbing story of one Lane Davis, aka Seattle4Truth: a Trump supporter, unpaid "political editor" for the far right blog The Ralph Retort, composer of especially bad rap songs about how much he loves Donald Trump, and all-around creeper who thought that all of us leftists were "pedophiles" and then went and stabbed his dad for being a "leftist" and thus, also a pedophile.
Welp! It looks like we've got a couple updates on him and the patricide he committed.
First, The Daily Beast has obtained the full, terrifying audio of the 911 call placed by Davis' mother. (LITERAL trigger warning.)
Via The Daily Beast:
“He’s not physically threatening us or anything,” Catherine told the dispatcher. “He just gets out of control and he’s ranting about stuff from the internet.”
Was Lane drunk, the dispatcher asked? On drugs? Was there any history of a mental disorder?
“No, not reported, but he’s not working and he gets on these rampages and he just needs to move on,” Catherine replied.
The dispatcher suggested Catherine and Charles stay away from Lane until the police arrived.
“We’re trying to but he’s chasing us around the house,” she replied. “He’s mad about something on the internet about leftist pedophiles and he thinks we’re leftist and he’s calling us pedophiles. And I don’t know what all.”
Catherine laughed. “He just lives on the internet and he gets really worked up about everything that’s going on. He needs an intervention of some kind here.”
Naturally, Lane was not happy about his mom calling 911, so he picked up a knife and was heard saying "OK well, so here’s the deal. If I am going to go to prison for threatening to kill somebody, I mean...”
Because sure, if you're going to be sent to jail for threatening to kill your parents, you might as well at least actually kill one of them. That makes sense.
The other update is that it turns out that prior to writing for The Ralph Retort for no money, Davis had another job ghostwriting and doing research for none other than Milo Yiannopoulis. Also for no money. While he was living at his parents' house. You know, because those Republicans are just really amazing at personal responsibility. How ever do they do it?
In case you are not aware, Yiannopoulis does not really write most of his own material or do his own research. He's more or less the figurehead for a Voltron of 44 internet troll interns, some paid and some unpaid, who do all his work for him whilst he flits from campus to campus whining about how no one wants to hear him talk. Davis himself actually leaked this information to Buzzfeed back in 2016, though without knowing that there was anything abnormal about this.
In a screen shot of a Slack chat obtained by the blog Yes, Margaret? Davis says, "Honestly I didn't even think the ghostwriting thing would be a story. I thought like all journalists had ghostwriters. Fuck, I don't know, I'm new to this."
Allow me to point out here that Davis first got his start with all the Gamergate bullshit -- a movement which claimed to be all about "ethics in gaming journalism," all while comprising trolls who knew about as much about how "journalism" works as Davis did.
Davis did, however get the opportunity to share a byline with Yiannopoulis on an article on how the MacArthur Foundation is somehow silencing conservatives on social media (though the byline has since been adjusted to only include Yiannopoulis' name).
In a response to the Daily Beast regarding his association with Davis, Yiannopoulis stated:
“Mr. Davis was a volunteer for me for a brief period of time prior to my founding MILO Inc. I was unhappy with his work and discontinued the relationship. I then experienced his anger firsthand as he threatened me and later went to BuzzFeed making false and inaccurate accusations."
But here's the problem with that "I'm a victim, too" shit here -- there is a direct correlation between the rhetoric of Milo Yiannopoulis and what made Davis angry enough to stab his father to death.
In the mind of Milo and those like him, they're just pulling out all the stops and doing whatever they can to attack their opposition, accusing them of any bad thing they can come up with that can somehow make them look like the good guys. All is fair in love and war and what have you. A pedophile is the worst thing someone can be, so why not decide that everyone who disagrees with you is a pedophile.
I don't believe for a second that Milo even believes half of the things he says or writes. I think he likes attention and he likes money and he likes being controversial.
But when someone sincerely believes him and others like him and has "anger issues"? It's not going to end well. It is going to end with someone accusing his father of being a "leftist pedophile" and stabbing his father to death. It's going to end with some ass showing up at a pizza place with a gun, demanding to see the secret non-existent place where they are hiding all the children they're abusing. It's going to end with innocent people getting hurt because it was fun for some jerks to make up repulsive conspiracy theories about people who disagree with them politically.
So that's ... we'd say it's not great.

Dad-Stabber Lane Davis Was Unpaid Milo Ghostwriter, Should We Be Surprised?
I remember some prick calling me a pedophile out of nowhere on one of the former-Gawker sites and thinking it was odd. I mean, call me an asshole, call me a jerkoff, whatever. Pedophile is one of those things that someone says and I just see RED. I unloaded on that ass and he didn't even have the stones to respond. These guys are all cowards.
I heard it's a series of tubes.
