As we hear more about Sarah Palin, an asshole,mocking "all that vast nuclear expertise he acquired as a community organizer, a part-time senator, and a candidate for president," we should remember that this was Obama's major issue during his time in the Senate. He and Sen. Lugar traveled to Russia, Ukraine and Azerbaijan in 2005, after which the two drafted a non-proliferation bill.
