Friday The 13th: Don't Let It Ruin Your Weekend At The Theater

Sunday, November 15: Fact: No city can call itself a hipster haven unless it hosts a Tweed Ride.  So, find your tweed jacket, wool vest, knickers, pipe, and bell, all of which you obviously have, you hipster you, and get ready for DC's first annual Tweed Ride: a leisurely jaunt through the H Street Corridor followed by drinks at Marvin. What a pointless afternoon of merry-making it will be! [Dandies and Quaintrelles]

  • Opening Friday, November 24:The Fantasticks opens at the end of the month, but in case you just can't wait to see this play about parents ruining their childrens' lives, you can participate in a Fantasticks themed scavenger hunt this Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. [A Fantasticks Voyage]
  • Shakespeare: The Folgers Theater's rendition of Much Ado About Nothing will be like watching your two wittiest friends banter about life and love, only your friends are Caribbean, if they're not already. You can also catch As You Like It starting Tuesday, November 17. [Folger Theater, Shakespeare Theater Company]
  • Closing Sunday, November 15: Halloween has come and gone, so the Synetic Theater's erotic take on Dracula must come to an end. Also, closing Sunday is Barrio Grrrl, one young woman's quest to save her barrio from the INS, or something like that. [Synetic Theater, Kennedy Center]
  • Cheap Theater: Those nice folks at the Washington Post put together a handy guide to scoring cheap tickets to DC shows, with no illegal activity required. Hooray! [Washington Post]
