WP leads today with the news that the EPA knew and alerted the D.C. Department of Health to the unsafe level of lead in District water back in November 2002; an EPA staffer wrote then that "fast action" was warranted. Before anyone gets too outraged, though, please remember that in D.C., anything that takes a year and a half to finish is fast action. The Redskins "rebuilding year" has lasted, what, a decade now? Let's just be thankful no one made the lead issue a "priority." That's what they said about a D.C. baseball team and you can see where that's gotten us. . .
