Kanye West is at it again, and this time he has a GOP friend named Steve to help him sort out just how much Republicans have helped black people over the years. These thoughts he tweeted are no longer findable since he hurried up and deleted them after he got schooled by layman historians like John Legend, and Charlemagne tha God. But, don't worry, Kanye can't get rid of all of the articles that quoted his nonsense. And John Legend's answers are Legend, so, we hope Yeezy learned a little something.
Here is what Steve wrote that got Kanye all excited for his new found open-mindedness when it comes to political parties:
Abe Lincoln freed and protected the slaves and he was republican.
Republicans were the ones who's helped black people. Democrats protected the rights of the slave owners in the south.
Of course Kanye had to tweet this ahistorical nonsense out to all of his fans, which prompted his actual friends to try to collect him and bring him to school. Now, I'm sure 'Steve' only has Kanye's best interests at heart, but he completely neglected to inform Kanye about anything that happened AFTER Reconstruction. You know? The years that included Jim Crow? It is true. Republicans in the 1800s most definitely outlawed slavery, and Democrats in the South in the 1940s and '50s were really not racially transcendent.
Unfortunately for Steve and Kanye, people in America have access to actual books that describe the shift of the parties towards the positions we now find ourselves in. Which led to Charlemagne Tha God correcting Kanye's seriously flawed ideas about the modern GOP:
Whoever sent you this is leading you wrong by giving you half truths because the Civil Rights Act Of 1964 was put into legislation by a Democratic President, so to say Republicans helped black people but imply Democrats never have is stupid.
Uh oh. Looks like Kanye's new friend "Steve" left a few bits of information out of his lesson on Republicans and Black America.
Charlemage is not the only layman historian who pulled Mr. West aside to impart some wisdom. Here is what John Legend had to say on the matter:
Abraham Lincoln was indeed a Republican. They love bringing that up to deflect from the fact that now the Republicans have become the party of the Confederacy.
Class dismissed!
Republicans like "Steve" (whoever the hell he is) and Candace Owens, who works at that outfit where they owned themselves wearing diapers, will neglect to mention how the Dixiecrats flooded the Republican party in response to the increasing push for Civil Rights for blacks. After the Civil Rights Act of 1957 signed by Republican Eisenhower, there is not much help for black people that came from the GOP. They will not tell you about Nixon's "Southern Strategy" or the "welfare queens" of the Reagan Administration. And they will get real quiet when you tell them how LBJ (A DEMOCRAT) fought for and got the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and the Voting Rights Act of 1965. You know, to help black people? Republicans did not do that, Kanye. Stop listening to them on black issues, they lie. Lately, it seems like all they want to do is reverse the Voting Rights Act, raise rent on poor blacks, arrest us for anything they can, and use Chicago as a boogeyman whenever we ask for gun control.
While we admire Kanye's quest for enlightenment, it might behoove him to stop believing the last thing somebody told him. (Kind of like Trump!) We understand that he has a fetish for being as disturbing as possible, but it might be time for him to do a bit of research before he starts typing out love letters to the GOP. THERE IS A REASON MOST BLACK PEOPLE ARE DEMOCRATS, KANYE. None of them have to do with Lincoln, or slavery, or the "Democratic plantation." We like voting and we hate Jim Crow, Kanye. Now you can go tweet about all the lovely rights the Democratic Party fought for you to have. And tell Steve to have a million seats and stop being a bullshitter.

He was dumb before the Kardashians in my humble opinion.
His hatred of poverty must have been more important to him than his racism.
