KerryPool: Is That a Gun in Your Pocket

In this all lower-case edition of the Kerry pool report, we learn about the Kerry's visit to a Catholic church and candidate's purchase of an Ohio hunting license from small road stop, "now that we're lost all of our customers." Awkward handling of cash, fruitless Haagan-Daz hunting, lame attempts at humor: This might be our favorite KerryPool ever. Highlights:

here are the highlights:

"The church is steadfast in procliaiming that all life is sacred because of our faith that God chooses life and has given us the freedom to do likewise. Too often the church’s proclamation is in conflict with its practice. It is the task of the church to convince and to encourage thru all patience by word and example those who do not agree, not to ostracize them or treat them like lepers.

..........

There are many people who think that the destruction of Iraqi life is as direct an assault on the sacred as is the taking of unborn life. There are many people who regard the death penatly as an admission of the smallness of our nature rather than evidence of our greatness. There are many people who think that the right of health is as impt as our right to security. There are many people who think that encouragement thru allpatience is preferable to the violence of arms…

We celebrate… bec a brother in Christ asked to celebrate in peace… so happens that one who hopes to lead the country…

Even when he comes to the church of his youth, he finds many ready to attack him for acknowledging reality rather than playing god. Let the brother be at peace here, he is among friends.

Make no mistake we will continue to pray for the wisdom to find ever more effective ways to convince people of this c to revere all life as sacred. As people of hope we can and should do no less. we have heard the clarion call, hope is on the way. If, dare we say when, by the grace of God, the brother should be the one chosen to lead, it is our hope that he will one day come back to our pew at St. mary’s to celebrate with us as potus. Not in this small room but in the church where we will do it openly, publicly, proudly.

... contineu to pray for the wisdom.. for ever more effective ways to convince peoplle. to revere all life as sacred. we have heard the clarion call that hope is on the way. (((note prior))).

if dare we say by the grace of god. the brother shud be the one chosen to lead. it is our hope he will one day come back ot us and celebrate with us as president of the united states. not in this small room but in the church where we will to it openly, publicly, proudly.:

i can't tell you how special this moment of worship has been for me. father your words were powerful. they were important and i take them to heart. and more importantly i was touched by the letter of paul to timothy. (note: father hummer talked about a letter from paul to timothy. pooler couldn't follow that...)....i want to a school called st. pauls's the letters of st. paul. mean a great deal to me. when i came back from from war like a lot of people trying to sort out killing and dying and those things. and the letters of paul are really instrucuve about suffeirng. and teach us a lot about why we suffer. how you find the love of god....

"and i will not ever forget this mass with all of you. and nothing wud give me more pleasure than to come back and worship in st. pauls. ((loud applause))

kerry puts hand to chest...

continues:

"let's all remember as you go out of here. if you extned father hummer's powerful homily to our lives and the days ahead. president kennedy summed it up. here on earth gods' work must truly be our own...

the teaching of our church is so rich, about poverty, about war, about our responsibilites to each other... the evironment.

you all know that.  this moment here. stop the hurly burly, get away from the wildness. to have this moment of tranquility and worship is an unbelievable blessing for me. thank you all and god bless you all."
