Bad news, everyone: Al Gore, whom we like again because he's not running for anything, is definitely running for something. How do we know? Robot calls:

Friday late afternoon, I pick up my home phone...on the other end is the voice of Al Gore urging me to go, this weekend, to see his movie (there was a little spiel about global warming, too, naturally). Maybe I don't answer the home phone often enough, but I've never gotten a robocall for a movie before.

This from the Daily News' Ben Smith, who says he'll "skip the obvious joke on this one." Mr. Smith, what would that joke be? The idea of Al Gore getting people to do more than pay lip service to the environment? Or the idea of the Democratic party letting Al Gore run for anything?
