Nagin Lunches With Bush, Promptly Sues Federal Government
On the outskirts of the French Quarter, Bush had lunch at Li'l Dizzy's Cafe with Louisiana officials. Sitting next to him was New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin, who has been outspoken in demanding a better federal response. Bush later lauded Nagin as a strong-willed leader.
New Orleans filed a claim on Thursday seeking $77 billion from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for damages caused by flooding after Corps-built levees collapsed during Hurricane Katrina.
Bush is probably regretting not picking up the check now. Or he would be, if he regretted anything, ever.
