That wacky Joe Biden has said another crazy thing! At a Washington DC fundraiser for Massachusetts Senate candidate Ed Markey on Wednesday, Vice President Joe Biden acknowledged former Veep Al Gore, also among the speakers, saying, according to a pool report,
"This man was elected president of the United States of America...No, no, no. He was elected president of the United States of America. But for the good of the nation, when the bad decision, in my view, was made, he did the right thing for the nation."
But this cannot be! shouted a number of wingnut bloggers, because everyone knows that all questions about the 2000 election are completely settled, and could we please get back to debating something that's actually in dispute, like how big a fraud global warming is?
"I can't think of very many who would put his country first like that, at a really, really, really difficult time," said Biden, as if Gore had had many other choices than to Be Gracious once the SCOTUS handed the election to George W. Bush. We love us some Old Handsome Joe, but come on, you big goofball, hyperbole much?
"Al, you set an example for this country that is going to live as long as recorded history, about the man who won by a decision that I think constitutional scholars now and in the future will conclude was an ill fated decision," Biden said. "The way you stepped up, it was amazing."
Then again, maybe there is something heroic in Gore's straightforward, non-pouting acknowledgment that the Court's decision was final, considering that he didn't almost immediately pop up whining about how he coulda been President if only some darn hurricane hadn't given the other guy an unfair advantage.

Something else to keep in mind is that Al himself was put off by Willieghazi. He voluntarily distanced himself from Bubba, whose popularity among Democrats <i>rose</i> because of the the <strike>witch hunts</strike> scandals. That was the biggest reason Gore didn&#039;t win handily.
hangin in his bitchin camaro i would think.
