On the Bush Payroll...I Think...
Maggie Gallagher's column admitting she was a paid Bush administration flunky is a masterful example of the non-contrite apology, not unlike Bush's own attitude to mistakes. We especially like her kicker: She would have said something about the contract for $21,500, but "it never occurred to me. On reflection...I should have disclosed a government contract when I later wrote about the Bush marriage initiative. I would have, if I had remembered it."
Wow. Doesn't remember getting paid $21,500? Does she also work for Nick Denton? We don't remember getting paid either, but that's usually because we blow it all on Ambien and bourbon before we ever make it to the bank...
