I actually said before Biden was even elected and people were complaining that he was too old that the greatest thing he could do as president would be to voluntarily pass the Office of the President to Kamala Harris.

I proposed 2 scenarios. One in which he resigned shortly after the midterms, to give Kamala maximum time to accrue the benefits of incumbency so she wouldn't have any trouble in the Dem primary this year, and the other where he passed it off on Jan 21, 2025.

It's obviously too late for the first scenario, and I seriously worry about passing the baton to her now (maybe I'm wrong, but we're a pretty racist country and I would have preferred to have time for the "white moderate" to get used to her before heading to the poles).

But what do I know? I have some areas of knowledge in which I'm better than any of you, but running elections sure as fuck ain't one of them.

All I know is that I'll vote for the Dem who is running against Trump. The rest is kinda out of my hands.

A few more things.

1. I love all you guys.

2. I personally think Joe Biden has a better shot at winning this.

3. Kamala Harris can also win this, but she has a different set of advantages and weaknesses that Biden does. It's more important how the handover from Biden -> Harris happens than either candidate is.

4. No other Democrat has a reasonable shot at winning this.

5. I know a lot of people are panicking right now even over having this discussion, but discussing options in good faith isn't a bad thing. We're not the cultists here and Joe Biden isn't the second coming of Jesus and George Washington put together and we all know it.
