Pamela Geller Was Tricked By James O'Keefe's Sharia Website
Top GZ Mosk bigotry advocate Pamela Geller is always on the lookout for Sharia sneaking into American law, which is why she sleeps at night with one arm around stacks of legal code and the other holding a shotgun. When she ran across the fake website James O'Keefe set up for his"NPR employees also have personal opinions about the world" sting, she knew she had found another Sharia smoking gun. Whoops! Yeah, she totally has a block-quote button on her blog software, and she knows how to use it; seeing "MEAC is a servant of Islam, and may peace be upon us all" on the site, she responds: "I’d rather blow up the world than live as a slave." Oh, so Pamela Geller is going to blow up the entire world now? Speaking of terrorists...
The MEAC site isn't actually very radical, which makes sense, because he was trying to use it to make NPR think it was a legitimate organization. But Geller knows how to read between the lines. From the MEAC site:
Islam in America is at a crossroads. One path is continued confusion, hatred, intolerance and discrimination, and the other is the truth and beauty of the Quran. America has been struggling with which road to choose primarily because it does not know or understand the beauty of our holy teachings.
In other words, if you do not accept living under the most radical, extreme ideology on the earth, Islamic (sharia) law, than you are filled with "confusion, hatred, intolerance and discrimination."
Some really good parsing, that.
Also, Pam UPDATE:
UPDATE: Troubling note on the subversion and how these groups cross-pollinate and are one, in fact operating from the same Islamic playbook (the qur'an):
Reader Megan wrote tipped me off to this. I googled the address of the MEAC trust -- 2100 M street suite 170 -- and the very first search result is Ground Zero mosque imam radical Rauf and the Cordoba movement here, under the Muslim Brotherhood proxy ISNA.
How creepy is all this? MEAC, ISNA, Rauf -- stealth jihad.
