Senator Allen Doesn't Roll on Shabbos!

In today's "Heard on the Hill," Mary Ann Akers has YET ANOTHER shocking revelation about Senator George Allen's history... or, uh present.

The Senator from Virginia, who recently learned that he's Jewish a month after the rest of us did, had scheduled a hearing of the Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee for next Monday. Last week, though, Allen rescheduled that meeting for Tuesday. The reason?

"He's Jewish and Monday is Yom Kippur," explained Brynn Slate, spokeswoman for the National Association of Women Business Owners, completely matter-of-factly to HOH.

Yeah, you're really not supposed to hold field hearings on a High Holiday. Even if you've only been Jewish for a week.

Next week, Senator Macacwitz (as the wags have taken to calling him -- we still like "The Man Who Won't Be President") will learn that he's secretly Californian, and will be forced to cancel a campaign appearance in order to go cruising around in his GTO.
