Teabaggers Flooding Into Arizona To Recall Sheriff Who Called For Civility
Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik called Arizona "a mecca for prejudice and bigotry." Sounds like a good place for a pilgrimage!
An activist from Utah, Dan Baltes, arrived in Tucson on Thursday to start a recall campaign against the sheriff. “It is not antithetical to harmony,” he said, making a local gunshop his first stop to drop off recall petitions.
Sure, local Teabaggers were already working on this recall drive. But they needed backup. When a local politician says something about guns and hating Mexicans, it's no longer a local issue. It threatens people with guns who hate Mexicans everywhere. This is the new front. [NYT]
