The Morning After The Morning After, Part 2: Yarmulke Party In DeKalb County
When a level-headed and universally respected political figure like Cynthia McKinney loses her primary election, the first step is to figure out who to blame. The staid, boring New York Times has some likely candidates:
Over the past few years, increasing numbers of affluent blacks have moved into southern DeKalb County, the base of Ms. McKinney's district, and many were not impressed by her confrontational and occasionally erratic style.
Several Republican strategists acknowledged that widespread crossover voting was organized and encouraged on Tuesday.
But McKinney's entourage knows who the real culprits are. Atlanta's 11Alive News has this breathless report:
The remarks were allegedly made just moments after McKinney's entourage passed out of earshot of 11Alive cameras, as the congresswoman left her campaign headquarters on Tuesday night. Someone reportedly said quote, "You wanna know what led to the loss? Israel. The Zionists. You put on your yarmulke and celebrate."
The sad thing is that the Jews were so busy undermining McKinney's candidacy that they totally forgot to prop up Joe Lieberman's.
11Alive News deserves some kind of Pulitzer for its McKinney coverage. In addition to stoking the fires of Jew-Black hatred, it also reveals today what may be the campaign's most shocking twist. McKinney personal bodyguard Steve Muhammad, then named Steve Sanders, was the awesome karate instructor dude from Enter the Dragon! The one with the afro and sideburns!
