The Oscar Party Planning Begins NOW!
The foreign language film part of the Oscars is usually an agonizing experience, mainly because you've never seen the film before, and secondly, because you wish you had. Luckily, National Geographic is hosting "Global Glimpses," a mini film festival running from Feb. 13-15, to update the Heath Ledger-obsessed masses on the Oscars' 2008 foreign language film nominees.
The series includes The Baader Meinhof Comple from Germany, The Class from France, Departures from Japan, Revanche from Austria and Waltz with Bashir (which is supposed to be really good) from Israel.
You'd think that E Street Cinema would have capitalized on this opportunity and made their own festival, but they didn't. Tickets are on sale now. [ National Geographic ]
