Top Gun Inc. Grounded

It's no wonder Rep. Randy "Duke" Cunningham (R - CA) thought $1.7 million was a fair price for his house, even though it was worth less than a million. Until recently, the entrepreneurial congressman was selling Randy "Duke" Cunningham Fighter Ace Kalinga Style Buck Knives for $595 each, via his suddenly shuttered website

Now, we know the knife is collectible, especially since it is decorated with the "Official Seal of the United States Congress," which, according to Fox News, may make it an official "violation of House rules and federal law, punishable by fine and up to six months in prison..."

But $595 for a single ten-inch knife? For $595, we think we could buy the entire inventory of Tom O'Dell's Cutlery Corner Network. To Cunningham's credit, he was shilling children's books like Woodrow, The White House Mouse and Marshall, The Courthouse Mouse at semi-competitive prices.
