Week Of Eating Food That Is Very Good
Restaurant Week: It's that fabled time in the great District of Columbia when restaurants open their doors to the plebeians among us, allowing them to indulge in delicious three-course meals for the affordable-ish price of $35. Either you love Restaurant Week because it's an opportunity to try new places that you otherwise couldn't afford, or you hate it because the portions are often smaller and you could probably get a better deal by just ordering off the regular menu. Regardless, this week is sacred to many in DC, and it's here from January 11 to 17.
Make your reservations now:
Rasika: One of the best Indian food restaurants in DC, Rasika is a great choice for Restaurant Week. The palak chaat appetizer is delicious and, if you like black licorice, order the black cod. It will be one of the best things you've ever eaten, we promise. [Rasika ]
Co Co. Sala: Chocolate-tropolis Co Co. Sala servers chocolate as a main dish, which is awesome. You can't go wrong with the bacon mac and cheese or, for dessert, the big kids menu, which includes milk chocolate peanut butter ice cream, bananas foster, a mini cocoa cupcake, and a malted shooter. Bistro Bis: This is the restaurant in DC where "diners want to be," so naturally you should hit it up for Restaurant Week. They're offering a special menu for lunch, dinner and brunch and they have at least 5 to 10 different options for each course- always a Restaurant Week plus, as most places make you choose from just 2 to 4 options. Art and Soul: This southern food restaurant is offering a Restaurant Week menu for both lunch and dinner. You can choose from the butternut squash soup or the arugula salad for your appetizer, the fried chicken or the braised pork shank for your main course, and banana bread pudding or almond cheesecake for dessert. You can check out a list , put together by D.C. Foodies, of all participating restaurants. The list includes links to their menus.
Some restaurants, noting the fact that they can make bank from this little experiment, have extended their deals until January 24. These include Againn, Art and Soul, Asia Nine, Bastille, Café Atlántico, Jaleo, Oyamel, Teatro Goldoni, and Zaytinya. Bangkok Joe’s, New Heights, 1789, and 2941 have extended Restaurant Week for the entire month.
