The elections for the White House Correspondents Association board are so contentious that there might actually be more than one candidate for president. But probably not: Sources report Ann Compton of ABC -- who is running for both an at-large seat and for president -- apparently has the backing of would-be write-in draftee Ed Chen (who is running unopposed as the newspaper rep). But other races are slightly less sleepy: The quaint old sign-up sheet they're using to track nominees is covered in cross outs, says our excitable eyewitness, who claims "It is like a high school class president race!!!" Just with fewer people caring.
