Who's Better At Handling Big Scary Protesters, Hillary Or Trump? Spoiler, It Is Hillary!
It's been said that the mark of a good leader is how she stands up in an emergency. Lately we have come to think of emergencies as mass shootings, bombings, or other terrorist incidents, as opposed to international coups or sudden political dust-ups. But sometimes those "emergencies" are just unruly protesters at political rallies!
Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump have both had incidents at rallies that required the intervention of Secret Service agents. Because Clinton and Trump are both divisive figures, angry prople sometimes show up to their rallies to let them know how angry they are. Let's take a moment to compare how Clinton and Trump react when faced with potentially life threatening situations, AKA protesters.
Back in March when Trump was still flying around in his Trump Shuttle leftovers and holding rallies on airport tarmac to skirt the cost of renting actual facilities, a protester hopped a barrier and tried to rush the stage. He was quickly taken down by Trump's security detail while his stunned sycophants demanded blood.
You'll notice Trump's first reaction was to grab his podium and try not to shit himself. He deftly turned, latched onto the breast of the biggest, whitest man he could, and allowed the rest of his detail to surround him. Mouth agape and slightly hunched over in disbelief, he watched the 22-year-old child actor get carted off.
On Thursday, Hillary Clinton, too, had a brush with unexpected protesters. While giving remarks in Las Vegas to the Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, several animal rights activists leapt the barrier in front of the stage.
Instead of releasing her bowels and clawing desperately for a human shield, Clinton expand=1] stared down her aggressors with an cold and icy glare that read, "COME AT ME, BRO!" When her Secret Service detail joined her onstage they instructed her to keep talking, but Hill-Dawg said, "I'm fine," and called her protesters out directly in saying, "Apparently these people are here to protest Trump, because Trump and his kids have killed a lot of animals. So thank you for making that point."
Here's a side by side of the both fateful moments, to give you a better idea how these candidates react under pressure.
We think the choice is clear.
