Wonk'd: The Woody Harrelson Edition
Sure, this is kind of random. But hey, guess what -- it's Friday!
Later today, we'll bring you the latest installment of Wonk'd, our celebrity sightings column. But this week we received so many sightings of one celebrity --Woody Harrelson, the rabble-rousing, pot-smoking, vegan-being ex-"Cheers" star -- that we decided to give them their own separate post.
As the Reliable Source ladies reported earlier this week, Harrelson is in town shooting a movie. "The Walker" is about "an aging gay man who plays escort to lonely Washington society ladies."
Box office gold? Dubious. Oscar bait? Definitely. The Academy loves the gays!
For those of you bored enough to care -- hey, it's D.C., even C-listers get us all hot-and-bothered -- you can check the Harrelson sightings out after the jump. (Extra bonus sighting, included free of charge: Dennis Kucinich!)
* Just [5/16] metWoody "The Woodster" Harrelson. He's taping a movie in front of my apartment (25th street ). Apparently he plays a gay male escort. SawKristin Scott Thomas, she's sooo midget -- like, but was wearing 5 inch heels.
*Woody Harrelsonis right now [5/17, 12: 59 PM] shooting The Walker in front of MPD headquarters at 300 Indiana Ave., NW.
* SawWoody Harrelsonperched outside Sonoma on Capitol Hill about 8: 15pm [5/17] after shooting there. He was drinking from a wine glass and talking to a cluster of paramedics. His stache, 3-piece pinstripe suit and swoop-back hair looked pretty fine. AND THEN, up strollsDennis Kucinich(and wife?). You've got to figure they talked about the many uses of hemp for like 2 hours. If DK misses the budget vote we'll know why.
* This evening [5/17] at about 8: 15 p.m.,Woody Harrelsonwas seen dining at Capitol Hill eatery Sonoma after filming a sidewalk scene on Pennsylvania Avenue. He was wearing a smart looking suit, no tie, and either spirit patch or a full goatee (can't quite recall). He did not LOOK stoned but, as I said earlier it was Woody Harrelson, so...
* SawWoody Harrelsonlast night [5/17] - they were just shooting a scene where he walks down the street from Mr. Henry's and goes into the 18th Amendment. We saw them do about six takes, watching from the median. There were a gaggle of girls standing near us who knew everything about what was going on except who the actor was - the one girl said to her friend who had just arrived, "It's a movie called 'The Walker' - and all that happens is that guy walks down the block!" I said to her "It's Woody Harrelson," and she said "Nuh-uh! He doesn't have hair like that!" "It's a wig," I said, and she peered closer and then yelled to her friends "Holy shit, that's Woody Harrelson!" Woody turned and waved to them.
