And they say he doesn’t have enough political experience. Any day now I expect to hear him announce his new ‘clean air initiative’ that raises the amount of pollution power plants are allowed to emit.
That being said, I guess I need to send Barack another check.
Tag line should be : Department of stating the obvious. I thought this was decided months ago.
Yeah. I’ll listen to Republicans whining about Obama using his small donor advantage in funding when they stop talking about McCain’s post-Keating 5 conversion to McCain-Feingold as treason against the freedom of speech — a Constitutional right which, of course, Republicans only honor when the 1st Amendment is held to apply to money.
At this stage of the game I just want him to do whatever it takes to beat the living shit out of the Republicans , so they have to re-group and can’t get into power for at least a generation.
Hey, at least Obama isn’t breaking the McCain-Feingold law, like John McCain is.
That’s the hypocrisy gold standard, breaking a law with your own fucking name on it.
I loved it when I heard him described on the radio this morning as the “Democratic Presidential hopeful.”
We don’t need no stinkin’ matching federal funds
This issue will matter to the eight people who give a flying fuck about campaign finance reform.
Good move. Don’t fight with one arm tied behind your back.
Who is going to finance Barry’s bowling career?
Way to go, Barry. I *want* my money spent on drowning WALNUTS in his own hypocrisy. Or he could buy Michelle another bomb ass dress to work it in.
Yeah, jeez, pity those poor Republicans, wouldja? Unable to raise money and having to run with only righteousness on their side.
Don’t recall this being an issue when Republicans were bathing in donations from corporate whores and Dems were trying to squeeze nickels outta unions.
My how times have changed.
Dollar dollar bill y’all. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GDfToFcJ2J4
McCain’s got a cunning plan, too; he’s going to septuple his donor base (from 100 to 700 old white guys) by encouraging them to buy one of those “mustache-a-day-for-a-week” novelty gifts.
Flat-earth elitist Obama wrongly demonizes innovator McCain, who is developing an alternative energy generator “fueled by contributions from Washington lobbyists”
on way to work this morning saw mccain selling divot tools
on streetcorner. you go gramps.
“Change means I can change my mind, bitch.”
Isn’t his massive support base of tiny donations totally like public financing anyway?
The Silent Majority. Hillary underestimated them, and now Insane McCain is making the same mistake.
One of the central themes of Obama’s campaign has been “judgment” and, let’s face it, only a fool would pass up the chance to earn a gazillion dollars in small donations over the internet.
Teh Intarwebs for the win! Hopey can pass the virtual collection plate with ease.
Don’t worry, McCain will easily make it up with the sale of yard signs and golf balls.
[re=19836]Godless Liberal *[/re]: More so than tax money, that’s for sure. I don’t see how it’s any more ethical to use tax money to campaign than money given to you by 2 million regular Schmoes specifically for that purpose. It’s like a segment of the voting population voluntarily levied an Obama tax on themselves.
[re=19836]Godless Liberal *[/re]: Excellent point. June is going to be very big. I did my part by accidentally hitting the send button three times when donating to Obama. Tripling my donation to a whopping $15.
[re=19836]Godless Liberal *[/re]: Really good point, one I hope the Obama campaign makes to counter any boo-hooing from the right.
Hey, WALNUTS! why don’t you ask your wife for the money?
[re=19833]AxmxZ[/re]: You are sooooo funny. Thanks for the clarification on the change I can live with.
[re=19836]Godless Liberal *[/re]:
Definitely. I’m sure the campaign will stress the fact that they get a substantial % of their funding from a huge number of $20-$100 donors while also refusing to take lobbyist or PAC money. Characterize it as a step towards campaign finance reform that was initiated by the American people, not Washington. A grassroots phenomenon, blah blah blah.
Damn it, I better go buy some more McCain divot tools so this election won’t be a landslide.
Better a hypocrite than a moran.
[re=19890]Rodney Badger[/re]: Wow, I guess I’m a major donor then, with my six or seven tips of not less that $25 each.
Barry owes me big time. I’ll let you know how our private oval-office meeting goes; week after inauguration day. Anybody want to add to my list of demands?
My GAWD people! With Patti Doyle on board do you really think Barry can do ANYTHING but private financing?
Well, Barry needs to do something to counter all the money McCain’s raising by selling orphaned polar bears and clubbed baby seal corpses.
[re=19822]norbizness[/re]: Money Ain’t a Thang
[re=19817]jessica[/re]: Hi Jessica. We finally meat. I heard about you. Did you hear about me? I too have very nice glorious internet web company site with many nice ladieman. You like? You tell me. I can arrange very nice.
Please, if McLame could get the small donor contributions that BO is getting, he’d drop public financing quicker than he dropped his first, disabled wife.
The Candidate of change?
Excuse me whilst I writhe about in laughter.
By going back on his highly touted promise to accept general election public financing (after nearly two years of speaking to and signing his name to his commitment to the public financing system), he has revealed that, rather than being the candidate of change, he is in fact the candidate of business as usual.
Indeed, by going back on his word, he has abundantly revealed that he is in every sense very much the proto-politician: someone who is willing to do or say ANYTHING (even if it means having to lie through his teeth!) to attain and retain power.
Lookout, America… if you think that Bill Clinton was / is a big, slick liar, and the presidencies of Richard Nixon and George Bush were a horrible, disastrous nightmare, just wait until you vote into office the slippery, duplicitous, Machiavellian, hubris-ridden, snake oil salesman known as Barack Obama.
