So much for the light at the end of the credit tunnel. Turns it out it was a bigger train.

Can we pitchfork and torch the fiscal motherfuckers now?

ForTheTurnstiles August 4, 2008 at 9:01 am

McCain/Lieberman? Awesome!

(awesome as an old lady falling down some stairs)

ForTheTurnstiles August 4, 2008 at 9:03 am

Yeah, and Solzhenitsyn was a raging right-wing nutter. Sorry he died and whatnot but if I were Stalin I’d think long and hard about sending that whiner to the gulag myself.

JamesMichaelCurley August 4, 2008 at 9:06 am

Solzhenitsyn dead. A life long inspiration to me. The most dignified and gifted surveyor of the glory of the human spirit in all of the world’s literature.

Darehead August 4, 2008 at 9:12 am

WTF? All weekend there were MSM articles on McCain doin’ teh veep-a-boo on Rep. Eric Cantor while we had nothing but turtles, coke missiles and Paris…..and now were back to square-Romulan again?

DoctorCulturae August 4, 2008 at 9:21 am

Methinks Hopey did a head juke in the direction of Virginny’s Kane so McHeadscab replied with a nod to Cantor. Both floating reconnaissance balloons. Who twitches? Who doesn’t?

[re=51035]ForTheTurnstiles[/re]: Stalin sent Solzhenitsyn to the Gulags. His crime was that he survived the collapse of the Russian defenses when Germany invaded Russia, spent years in a German prisoner of war camp and lived to go back to the Soviet Union. Stalin jailed tens of thousands of WWII veterans who had been captured by the Germans (I met one who told me about the experience twelve years before the US admitted its participation.). Thousands, maybe hundreds of thousand of those Soviet WWII veterans sent to the Gulags included those caught up in ‘Operation Keelhaul’ the decision by the United States to ‘repatriate’ Soviet military persons liberated from German POW camps. By the time ‘Operation Keelhaul’ was completed, Austrian, British and US forces applied the Yalta codicil to all Soviet refugees found allied occupied lands. As many as two million people were sent back to the Soviet Union who had fled there during the 1930′s and the 1940′s. Solzhenitsyn was lucky, he lived. No accounting has ever been done of how many were executed, but that number includes thousands of Cossacks from areas of the Soviet Union which were annexed by the Soviets after the war. Thousands of persons were summarily shot or hung by the NVKD and the GPU so quickly that the British and American guards were still within hearing.

Sorry for too much seriousness.

“John McCain is getting testy with the press.”

McCain is making all the same mistakes that Hillary made.

She and Bill denigrated each of Hopey’s victories by comparing him to Jesse Jackson, or ignoring them entirely as though they hadn’t happened. McCain is saying Hopey’s only achievement has been to become the world’s best known celebrity. FAIL!

Hillaryous slammed the media for being sexist when it failed to pander to her and her flailing campaign. McCain is gettin’ all pissy with the press because it now loves a new candydate more than it loves McCain. FAIL!

Hillaryous said the Presidency was too important to let some greenhorn answer the phone at 3 AM. McCain is saying Hopey’d rather win the Oval Office than in Iraq. FAIL!

Hillaryous eventually made her entire campaign revolve around the black man who was stealing her show. McCain cannot utter a single sentence that doesn’t include a disparaging comment about his opponent. FAIL!

Hillaryous was right when she said the Republican attack machine would use the same bullshit in the general that she slung in the primary. But if it didn’t work for her then, why would it work for McCain now? FAIL!

Happy Birthday, Senator Unicorn.

queeraselvis v 2.0 August 4, 2008 at 10:52 am

The very fact that Joe Klein (!) admits that McGrumpty-Doo’s campaign message has degenerated from something resembling honorable and heroic to little more than “flop sweat” makes me all creamy in my Calvins.

sati demise August 4, 2008 at 11:07 am

[re=51074]Canuckledragger[/re]: yea, Hillary was right about the Republican attack machine. They are now holding in cue a commercial showing Hillary saying “McCain and I have Commander in Chief credentials, Obama has a speech”. (or you have to ask OIbama about his credentials-the GOP attack machine will show both clips)

The McCain camp is saving this for after the convention.

Ms. Hillary will have some ‘splainin’ to do then.
She better come up with a hell of a good sound bite for Hopey.
If not, she will become the official Democrat cunt mascot.

From the WaPo: ‘McCain adviser Steve Duprey, a former chairman of New Hampshire’s Republican Party, says “he’d love to be back on the bus, driving around with eight or 10 of you, and just riffing. In New Hampshire, if he’d say something that wasn’t artfully phrased, there was more of a flow — he could revise something, or say let’s talk about baseball. He’d get a pass. But in the age of blogs, there’s always someone who makes a big deal out of it.’

Goddamn bloggers are ruining everything! The Professional Journalistic Persons can’t filter the news anymore–that blows!

No, wait, wait, Jeb Bush.

Stand back & watch the magic happen.

How do we really know today is Hopey’s birthday? His birth certificate is a forgery as he was not born in Hawaii, but in a terrorist madrassa in some foreign country, because he is a muslim.

RuperttheBear August 4, 2008 at 1:21 pm

“We’d be stupid to pick before they do,” said one top McCain adviser, speaking about the hush-hush decision on the basis of anonymity.

Aren’t they stupid no matter what they do?

Darehead August 5, 2008 at 12:49 am

[re=51170]Beef Supreme[/re]: Furthermore Hawaii is a foreign country anyway.
