  • On Tuesday while Democrats were busy paying attention to the convention, John McCain was talking about how Barack Obama doesn’t believe in American greatness. [Washington Post]
  • Speaking of international things, today’s convention theme is national security — featuring speaker Bill Clinton, who wanted to talk about the economy. [Congressional Quarterly]
  • Barack Obama is quietly airing ads in swing states explaining why he should not be held accountable for William Ayers bombing something when he (Obama) was eight years old. [Washington Post]
  • Who knew? Apparently there is a “Freedom Cage” like 50 yards from the buses where delegates get dropped off at the convention. A bunch of young hippies came all the way from like Maryland to protest in this Freedom Cage, and now they are being ignored, because of the bus route. [Denver Post]

They hate us for our Freedom Cages.

Walnuts is another jackass who perceives greatness as being beyond criticism. This might not be so bad if you accomplished a lot more than just crashing five jets and lived in North Vietnamese government subsidized housing for 5 and 1/2 years.

I missed the live blog last night. Great comments! But I have to say I think Hilz was rockin’ the orange and blue for ILLINOIS!

Young Obama should have stood up and rejected/denounced the Weather Underground bombings. That he did not is proof that he has always been a Muslim terrorist.

Borat August 27, 2008 at 10:19 am

Meanwhile, Cindy Brady is off to Georgia (and not the one with Atlanta in it) so McJerk can say his wife is out doing something useful rather than partying down in Denver with a bunch of pinkos who don’t believe in yer peaceful freedom cages

Billy Bob will figure out a way to say what he wants. Just keep an eye on Obama Girl.

[re=71431]ManchuCandidate[/re]: WALNUTS! thinks it was a good idea to try to “bring democracy and freedom” to a country that has a history of internecine battles going back several thousands of years and whose culture is utterly unlike any where a American-style democracy could begin to work (oh, and that evil dictator we just had to overthrow to bring freedom to his oppressed people? The one we supported and made possible for years? Ooops). He thinks foreign policy is accomplished via the DoD, not State. He is a moran. He should stick to insulting his wife and representing interest groups from AZ.

Not that I feel strongly about this or anything. Sheesh, sorry. it was just the quotes in the WaPo this morning from bitterz who “need more time to mourn and grieve” and “hate Obama so much” they are going to “work to have McCain elected” (I am not making this up) that got me in this mood. These people are unreal. It is NOT about you or your need to grieve, you selfish fools. They are basically saying they voted for Hillz solely because she was a woman or, they believe in her positions, but are so bigoted, they’d rather vote against their interests than for a black man.

OK, time for my morning Valium.

Bill Clinton. Hah! I have this ‘duck and cover’ feeling.

So John McCain doesn’t believe in all those statistics that show we suck (comparative to the first world) in many things, eh? I’m sure he could refute them individually. Facts are hard.

“The Cold War ended not because the world stood ‘as one,’ but because the great democracies came together, bound together by sustained and decisive American leadership,”

Very interesting: so the Cold War ended, but that doesn’t mean that we should look forward to building a world in which all nations strive toward the common good (i.e. the UN, WTO model). Rather, we should look forward to the next great confrontation between superpowers. Oceania has always been at war with Eastasia… and always will be.

Cogito Ergo Bibo August 27, 2008 at 10:42 am

McCain said oppressed nations look to the United States for leadership and hope. “When they talk about our country, it is not with distrust or disdain, but with respect and affection. They do not resent or resist America’s democratic influence in the world — they thank God for it.”
Um, when was the last time WALNUTS! traveled abroad and was he sure it was on planet Earth? He’s sounding a little more coo-coo for Cocoa Puffs than usual. Or he’s off his meds. Or both. Again.

[re=71534]GayInMaine[/re]: the irony is, if Obama loses, she will take a lot of the blame for smearing him and damaging him badly during the primaries, which will then damage HER and her possible future running for Pres again.
