The crisis of this election is huge that he has to suspend his campaign to deal with the problem!

But really, I wish people didn’t pull immature crap like this because it makes all of us libtards look bad…oh, wait…

mookworthjwilson November 3, 2008 at 1:35 pm

Fucking asshats gonna cost us this thing…somehow the ebony unicorn will get the blame for this…

Hairy Reed November 3, 2008 at 1:35 pm

Whaaa??? Hax0rs?

demtard November 3, 2008 at 1:36 pm

I also love the immediate redirect to barackobama.com…

WonderWomyn November 3, 2008 at 1:36 pm

This will just anger them more…

Viva la Cynthia November 3, 2008 at 1:37 pm

Oh, so it’s a fake hack? Then I totally approve and am laughing–out loud, even!

Where’s the SIREN?!?!

Cogito Ergo Bibo November 3, 2008 at 1:37 pm

They could have at least highjacked the site to some porn. That way, everybody wins!

Tommy Says Soooo November 3, 2008 at 1:38 pm

I suspect anyone on Wonkette who has ever made a Dungeons & Dragons reference.

Godot November 3, 2008 at 1:38 pm

[re=161090]demtard[/re]: Actually it’s a redirect on mouseover of the “endorses Obama” banner.

Viva la Cynthia November 3, 2008 at 1:39 pm

[re=161092]WonderWomyn[/re]: Isn’t it strange how we never hear that in response to a stupid GOP-sympathizin’ stunt (e.g., Ashley Todd)? Is it that this side doesn’t get mad, or that they just don’t care if we do?

BobLoblawLawBlog November 3, 2008 at 1:39 pm

FTW to a whole new level.

GreatLakesNation November 3, 2008 at 1:39 pm

Walnuts is the ultimate Warsh-ington outsider…so much that that he’s suspending his campaign again the day before the election…that’ll move the polls

Cape Clod November 3, 2008 at 1:40 pm

A pleasant thought. In the coming civil war, while the wingnuts will be taking over freeways with their guns and flags and camo, the liberals will electronically empty what’s left of their bank accounts.

drunkenredneck November 3, 2008 at 1:40 pm

Wow, that didn’t take long, 4 min. till it was back up.
Of course that doesn’t really leave enough time for them to have figured out the vulnerability on their site. Their web admin should be getting hazard pay.

american mutt November 3, 2008 at 1:42 pm

[re=161087]mookworthjwilson[/re]: yes, but ebony unicorns don’t lose no matter what.

World B Free November 3, 2008 at 1:42 pm

The McCain campaign has to be struggling to find one of the three Republican computer programmers to fix the hack.

drunkenredneck November 3, 2008 at 1:42 pm

[re=161106]drunkenredneck[/re]: Excellent, I did some reading and this is teh fake, I feel like a tool.

The Jackson Five November 3, 2008 at 1:43 pm

Hilarious! 4chan posse in the tank.

4tehlulz November 3, 2008 at 1:43 pm

[re=161106]drunkenredneck[/re]: The password is probably “password”.

MoonshineJoe November 3, 2008 at 1:43 pm

[re=161098]Tommy Says Soooo[/re]: Clearly my THAC0 of 10 was good enough to hit John of McCain’s AC of 7… because I roll twenties?

american mutt November 3, 2008 at 1:44 pm

[re=161103]Cape Clod[/re]: that’s a good point. they have guns. we have hax0rs.

Tommy Says Soooo November 3, 2008 at 1:48 pm

This is just a test to see if the levees break by having a premature Hopegasm. Bring extra towels, Kleenex, and Sara K’s political spermicide.

MoonshineJoe November 3, 2008 at 1:48 pm

[re=161121]4tehlulz[/re]: Just looking at the link (to an event) I bet it is an sql injection attack. Someone probably added the event using some sql statements and the input wasn’t parametrized.

Anonymous Office Zombie November 3, 2008 at 1:49 pm

[re=161122]MoonshineJoe[/re]:
HAXX0R attacks McCain’s Internets Security Golem
HAXX0R rolls a natural 20 – Critical Hit!
HAXX0R’s +3 Vorpal Sword of Golem Slaying decapitates Golem

Rush November 3, 2008 at 1:55 pm

Gee, kids, things are starting to get giddy around here. Now don’t get over-heated with all this running around and remember to water down your apple juice.

paul irish November 3, 2008 at 1:58 pm

This isn’t really a HACK. it’s a XSS vulnerability. so no one really “hacked” their site.. its just their web developers could done a better job. :)

DeathOfIrony November 3, 2008 at 1:58 pm

It’s a fake, but perhaps the McCain web team will spend the next 24 hours searching for the offending files on the server and wondering how it’s happening. Perhaps they’ll need to clean the tubes with teh giant pipe-cleaner.

FreshCliches November 3, 2008 at 2:01 pm

[re=161103]Cape Clod[/re]: WIN. How can you finance a race war when All Your Bank Are Belong To Us?

sk1win November 3, 2008 at 2:01 pm

They are such amateurs not too have already fixed this. I guess they are all working on their resumes or out get loaded to drown their sorrows.

Modok November 3, 2008 at 2:02 pm

[re=161127]american mutt[/re]: Cape Clod: that’s a good point. they have guns. we have hax0rs.

Mutt you don’t know the right hax0rs, all my geeks are reinactors to boot. Nothin like a bunch of nerds dressed up like the Wehrmact with working MP-5′s arguing about the OPness of Warlocks in WoW and drinking vodka from tin cups. goodtimes goodtimes.

bago November 3, 2008 at 2:03 pm

Ok, McCain has just lost it. Coal, Nukes, Oil, San Francisco!

Johnny Zhivago November 3, 2008 at 2:09 pm

It’s not really a hack – McCainnation is a sub-site where anyone can post almost anything they want.

So relax, nobody hacked anything.

Maj. Major Major Major November 3, 2008 at 2:14 pm

It’s a simple XSS attack. Nothing to see here, folks…

MoonshineJoe November 3, 2008 at 2:26 pm

[re=161231]Maj. Major Major Major[/re]: I r wrong. It is XSS and not sql injection. Back to arguing about how OP ret pallies are now.

Schadenfried November 3, 2008 at 2:26 pm

[re=161100]Viva la Cynthia[/re]: Heck, the right never apologizes for anything. Meanwhile if someone on the left even blows their nose in their directions, they want a full retraction and repudiation.

Maj. Major Major Major November 3, 2008 at 2:30 pm

I don’t recommend anything, but a person could have a lot of fun with John McCain’s Find.aspx

Ken Layne November 3, 2008 at 2:31 pm

[re=161171]DeathOfIrony[/re]: That is my hope.

Giant Robot November 3, 2008 at 2:41 pm

[re=161087]mookworthjwilson[/re]: Sadly, I agree. Messing with their website could cause some blowback. Too bad. I don’t know anything about this hacking stuff but when I realized I could copy the URL and change the message to “McCain collapses at rally in Virginia” I came really close to sending it to my repug relatives.

Lascauxcaveman November 3, 2008 at 2:41 pm

[re=161121]4tehlulz[/re]: Actually, I was the hacker that did this and the password wasn’t “password.” It was two-level entry with the initial login being much harder to figure “trollop.”

The second login was a 4-letter word beginning with C.

Maj. Major Major Major November 3, 2008 at 2:43 pm

Maybe John McCain validates his data at the form layer like they used to do back in the 1950s or whatever.

102415 November 3, 2008 at 2:46 pm

God Bless America land of the Freedom rings. No really.

Kingbee November 3, 2008 at 2:49 pm

It’s a trick, everyone! John announces he is quitting today, we get drunk tonight and blow off voting tomorrow, and he pops back up tomorrow with a “Just kidding!”.

Das Storminator November 3, 2008 at 3:02 pm

Holy XSS hole, Batman!
