His brother Jack would solve the problem by just shooting people in the kneecaps.André Bauer, the allegedly heterosexual lieutenant governor of South Carolina, said a fairly controversial thing about the Poors the other day! Here is the thing about these “people”: if you feed them, they reproduce! This isn’t just biology — it’s a page straight out of the Communist Manifesto, which is what poor people like to read, while they’re fucking each other on piles of government cheese.

Bauer, who is running for the Republican nomination for governor, made his remarks during a town hall meeting in Fountain Inn that included state lawmakers and about 115 residents.

“My grandmother was not a highly educated woman, but she told me as a small child to quit feeding stray animals. You know why? Because they breed. You’re facilitating the problem if you give an animal or a person ample food supply. They will reproduce, especially ones that don’t think too much further than that. And so what you’ve got to do is you’ve got to curtail that type of behavior. They don’t know any better,” Bauer said.

[...] Bauer later Friday told The Greenville News he wasn’t saying people on government assistance “were animals or anything else.”

See, Bauer was just talking about how schools with free and reduced-price lunch programs should administer drug tests and make parents attend parent-teacher conferences! Accountability and all that! In this metaphor, parent-teacher conferences are like Havahart traps for feral cats, and school lunches are cat food, and poor people are still mindless vermin.

This is why Andre Bauer is such an important role model in our state. Because gays don’t breed unless they can afford science.

When hunting season in South Carolina starts, hunters will be happy to learn that there’s no limit on poors this year, because of the recession. Hippies who oppose hunting don’t understand the need to cull the herd of dumb animals. I hate hippies.

So, it’s generally a good idea to punish children because they come from broken homes. Because feeding them would be “enabling” their, uhh, parents’ behavior, and totally not ensuring that they’re trapped in a never-ending cycle of poverty. After all, they’re just like stray animals- not that I’m comparing poors to stray animals or saying that we should just let them all starve and die or anything like that, no sir.

So, I’m left with one question: Which is more likely, that SC comes in dead-last in the country by every discernable measure because of misguided public policy, or that SC is a shithole for completely unrelated reasons (a pact with Satan, justforinstance) and the terrible policies its politicians keep doing are actually really good ideas, and literally the only thing keeping SC from turning into a full-on Hellmouth?

Because, I know people like to pretend that it’s really #2 happening here, but seriously? Sometimes correlation actually is because of causation.

Oh, Andre, methinks the media is about to start covering your Saturday hustling big time.

Bauer’s Palmetto Tomorrow Foundation takes donations and STATE MONEY to give poor old people one blanket and is also known for “Providing up to 46,000 pairs of shoes to South Carolinians with Samarit, ans Feet.” I’m not familiar with a disease called “Samaritans Feet,” but it sounds nasty.

Also, corporate heavy-hitters Wal-Mart, Duke Energy Foundation, and United Healthcare Group chipped in loads to give poor seniors a blanket in a whopping 22 towns and a couple of cities.

Just so we’re clear here, Swift was kidding. Practicing a now obscure art called “satire” or something like that unlike Bauer who is evidently incapable of irony. But to his credit, Bauer doesn’t recommend eating poors, just starving them a little. Its a well known biological fact that starving animals are less likely to reproduce, although they often do eat their young if they do give birth, so it amounts to the same thing. Let the poors eat the poors. I think that’s what Swift had in mind, also.

Feeding poors is like feeding squirrels. You can’t just hand it to them. Instead, place the sandwich on the trashcan lid, and hide behind the bushes. In no time a hungry poor (they are always watching) will emerge from hiding and greedily gobble down the bait. Precious!

Try this sometime at the park. Be sure to bring a camera. Be careful about bringing the kids though. If two poors see the bait they’re liable to start fucking on it.

Among other despicable acts, Britain was exporting food from Ireland to England throughout the supposed Great Famine, while letting the Irish starve.

And he didn’t suggest ‘the poors eat the poors’, he (satirically) suggested that Irish babies could be served as a delicacy for well-to-do English folk. His (satirical) point was that it would be better than letting the babies starve to death, which they were doing in droves.

BTW, the ‘shame’ thing worked about as well as attempts to shame Republicans. Or bankers.

André Bauer seems to be too liberal to be a viable candidate in South Carolina.

Meaux January 25, 2010 at 12:22 pm

I’m not a poor myself, but I’m guessing the reason them poors don’t show up to PTA meetings and parent/teacher conferences is that they are working at jobs that don’t grant paid time off, and often working two shitty-paying jobs, drastically cutting into their PTA-attending time.

Of course, I also agree the poors shouldn’t breed, but then I’m a misanthrope: I don’t think anyone should breed.

Downtheroadapiece January 25, 2010 at 12:23 pm

Well that settles it. I’m picketing my local Second Harvest until they shut down their wasteful enterprise!

RoscoePColtraine January 25, 2010 at 12:29 pm

It’s ironic that the poors you want to fuck the most are the ones who look like they’ve skipped a lunch here or there. Knowumsayin’?

[re=500397]Dolmance[/re]: I blame Lincoln. The whole “let Lee surrender with honor and no consequences” crap screwed us right then and there. The whole goddamn region should be burned to the ground AGAIN. They should have no business telling any part of the rest of the country what to do until they pay their fair share and the fact that they don’t should be trumpeted from every… uh… minaret.

We (the sane parts of Murka)should have slapped so many reparations on the Confederacy that they STILL wouldn’t be finished paying us back. Not to mention putting the negroes and poors in charge of reconstruction. In fact, I think this is still a great idea. I could think of hundreds of fat, pompous, ignorant, good-ol-boys who sure could use some time out in the fields while their Messican masters just sip iced tea on the porch.

God, this country is so fucked.

Shorter Bauer: A well-fed poor is an ungrateful, lazy, hyper-sexed, immoral drain on society.

gurukalehuru January 25, 2010 at 12:37 pm

The South shall rise again, like a creature from the swamp, like a mummy from the tomb, like a zombie from the grave, like the villain in Die Hard and a million other movies just like it but really, they just should have stopped making action flicks after Die Hard, you can’t top a line like yippie-ki-yay, motherfucker, not even Samuel L. Jackson, but those films keep coming back, too, in fact, every evil thing that totally sucks keeps coming back, it can’t be vanquished so yes, the South shall rise again and again and again.

WadISay January 25, 2010 at 12:38 pm

On top of which, pricks like Bauer congratulate themselves on giving the poor tough love, like, Here, this kick in the nuts is good for you.

Suds McKenzie January 25, 2010 at 12:40 pm

What blows my mind is the number of poor white folks who will show up on Election Day to vote for this worthless prick. He’ll spew some nonsense about loving Jesus and families, and the poor white trash will show up to vote for the fucker despite his threats to starve them to death.

Okay, if we’re going to play God and get to decide who starves to death, Bauer will be on my list and George Bush and Dick Cheney and Rush Limbaugh (actually he looks like he IS starving to death) etc. etc. but there would not even be one kid who is currently getting a free lunch because I am happy to see my tax dollars go toward feeding kids and I am unhappy to see my tax dollars go toward blowing up people and lining the pockets of greedy contractors, because I am a bad American and I hate freedom.

Ya know, I was thinking the same thing. I can picture a Jefferson Lee Beauregard IV(R, Cracker County SC), proposing linking section 8 funding to those that can prove a lineage to the confederate army, or limiting medicaid elgibility to descendents of northern and western european immigrants(excluding irish catholics of course). I mean we dont want any innocents(cough-cough whites) hurt by this proposal. Andre, this is the 2010 republican party, step up your game!!

Any dont worry about the MSM, they wont call you on it. Macaca was so 2006. They dont even see any racists signs at the teabagger demonstrations. The media will continue to portray them as just concerned average Merikans, without hypocrisy, railing against taxes that Hopey cut or their sudden concern for deficits that only materialized when that colored fella got elected.

Paul Tardy January 25, 2010 at 1:57 pm

Government continues to reward bad behavior by giving money to people who “don’t have to do a thing,”

Now more than 50% of the electorate.

In the end, all southern politics comes back to those darn blacks. Welfare is wrong, because it just encourages those shiftless blacks to breed, gun control is wrong, because we need guns to protect our homes against those criminal, and sex-crazed, blacks, public schools are bad, blacks get to go to them, activist judges are bad, they let the blacks in the public schools, drugs and sex and rock and roll, all are evil inventions of teh blacks, and employed to ensnare our daughters and turn them into drugged-out prostitutes working for black pimps (they call this “white slavery” down there). Crime is of course a problem caused by blacks. Liberals are evil because they don’t hate blacks enough. Is there anything, anything at all, in the southern GOP platform that ISN’T dog-whistle racism?

at the risk that someone has already pointed this out, if you feed a hungry man once, he will be fed only that once; but if you teach him to rob from the rich, he can feed himself for the rest of his life.

There are, however, a minority of liberals here, who haven’t been tortured to death and deep-fried yet, who don’t represent the stereotypical model you portray.
