A popular liberal Twitter joke has been going around for… hmm… (21 – x = 13), (-x = -8), (x = 8!)… 8 days now, after crazy person Andrew Breitbart went on the 3 a.m. Fox News program and promised to “take down the institutional left” in “the next three weeks.” And so here we now have a BREITBARTOCALYPSE (that is an extremely difficult word to type!) COUNTDOWN CLOCK. Why is it still counting down, though? Harold Ford’s downfall was yesterday. [Institutional Left Doomsday Clock]

X equals eight-factorial?

So, um, here’s a piece of complete insanity about Harold Ford from one of Breitbart’s porn sites:

[re=523076]bjkeefe[/re]: Oh that is DIRTY!

What is the biggest number in the universe? 120 trillion or so?

Junior March 2, 2010 at 4:18 pm

Jim, your command of algebra proves that the recent bit of research showing that us libruls have higher IQs is 100% true… suck it Breitbart.

JMP March 2, 2010 at 4:19 pm

Liberals may be laughing now, but we’ll see what happens when Breitbart launches his newest blog, Big Institutional Left. It’ll be shocking and have have amazing new content that’s pretty much the same as on all his other blogs.

Of course, to take Them down he’ll have to take time off from his whining about all those mean liberals calling his racist underlings racists.

Hell hath no fury like a bitter megalomaniacal old queen scorned.

The Little Rock March 2, 2010 at 4:20 pm

Guys. I’ve already got the scoop. James O’Keefe has done it again. Dressed up as Little Bo Peep he actually got Wolf Blitzer to admit that the Situation Room isn’t really THE Situation Room. It’s unclear how CNN will respond, but their days as the “Best Political Team in News” are drawing to an inauspicious end.

ThisIsNotAnAvatar March 2, 2010 at 4:20 pm

Spliff_Menendez over at bigjournalism comments, “Can anyone name me an elected black politician who isn’t a corrupt douchebag?” He forgot the requisite modifier “literally” as in “literally a corrupt douchebag.” These guys need to develop the discipline to stay on message.

Jukesgrrl March 2, 2010 at 4:22 pm

Is that the Mayan calendar?

Tommmcatt March 2, 2010 at 4:23 pm

The right-wing blogosphere SIMPLY CANNOT OVER-PROMISE, can they?

He must have pictures of Hopey and Myley Cyrus in flagrente.

Joshua Norton March 2, 2010 at 4:24 pm

Pat Robertson predicted the world would end in 1982. Do you think it happened and we’re just imagining all this?

Then again, these people are NEVER right about anything. So…..

Mr Blifil March 2, 2010 at 4:28 pm

BREITBARTACOCKINLIPS is more like it. Much more like it…

I guess this is already famous and is 10 minutes long but it’s worth it for the first 45 seconds or so.

Breitbart Being a Douche

SmutBoffin March 2, 2010 at 4:38 pm

I wonder what the demise of the institutional left will look like… Will Tim Robbins start a sweatshop in Honduras? Will the Communist Party USA close its doors and send disillusioned Reds into the street with Teabagger signs? WILL COLMES AND HANNITY HAVE SOME RECONCILIATION SEX?

Smoke Filled Roommate March 2, 2010 at 4:40 pm

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if some Repub fuck scandal or corruption scheme hit the news that day?

thesheriffisnear March 2, 2010 at 4:41 pm

Is that C.P.* time?

*Crazy People’s time

bitchincamaro March 2, 2010 at 4:42 pm

[re=523105]Mr Blifil[/re]: Breitbart’s face is a fucking knuckle magnet, if I ever saw one.

The Lucky Wife March 2, 2010 at 4:43 pm

“institutional left”? Is that anything like the “vast right-wing conspiracy”?

SayItWithWookies March 2, 2010 at 4:43 pm

That’s actually the day that Mane & Tail cancels their mousse for cockatoo crest feathers and Andrew has to find another product to lift his resplendent Coiffe of Righteousness heavenward.

DC Hates Me March 2, 2010 at 4:45 pm

The Institutional Left is all set to collapse .. just as soon as we’re done setting charges to Building 7.

Hopey dont play that game March 2, 2010 at 4:46 pm

I am just really happy that someone thinks that the left has institutions.

bureaucrap March 2, 2010 at 4:49 pm

I think this is Breitbart’s get rich(er?) quick scheme — he’s shorted GE and Ben & Jerry’s.

ladymacbeth March 2, 2010 at 4:51 pm

i bet it won’t be as much fun as Y2K.

gurukalehuru March 2, 2010 at 4:52 pm

Where is this institutional left and where can I join?

Extemporanus March 2, 2010 at 5:06 pm

The only countdown I care about comes courtesy of Europe.

Come here a minute March 2, 2010 at 5:08 pm

This is the same kind of metaphor as in the Bible’s “seven days” for God to create the world. Some believe there were a literal seven days, but others think they represent hundreds, thousand, or even millions of years. Breitbart WILL take down the institutional left, it just may take a while.

Monsieur Grumpe March 2, 2010 at 5:12 pm

I think he meant the institutionalized left which is pretty low of him. Hey Breitbart, pick on someone with equivalent mental faculties like a slug, a tree or some belly lint.

El Pinche March 2, 2010 at 5:14 pm

I support the nucular option for Briebart’s head.

ElitistMarxist March 2, 2010 at 5:14 pm

I was wondering why a dumbfuck with a fur trenchcoat & feathered cap was following me around… Shit. He’s on to me. Gotta call Yoo to ask how to delete my emails, stat.

I haven’t been this excited since they over-hyped the Segway.

queeraselvis v 2.0 March 2, 2010 at 5:27 pm

13 days and such until Andy announces his hostile takeover of http://www.anal-sins.com?

Snarkalicious March 2, 2010 at 5:36 pm

Awwww JUNX! David Patterson is fucked for sure, now!

Allyson March 2, 2010 at 5:38 pm

Breitbart is aiming for the “institutional” left? That leaves the Dems in the clear, at least if one believes Will Rogers:

It’s Tuesday. Are those numbers from Lost? Does someone have to key them in to save the world?

[re=523079]jagorev[/re]: Andy doesn’t understand that the Demonrats are judging Harold on the content of his character, just like Dr. King wanted.

Darkness March 2, 2010 at 9:20 pm

What is this “institutional left”? Is that liberals whose formal wear and casual wear is composed of a straightjacket? Don’t they have burly men with tranquilizer darts permanently assigned to bring them down already?

Holy Cow!! March 2, 2010 at 11:07 pm

He’s going to fly a plane into the New York Times.

That’s the best article I’ve read all day.

imissopus March 3, 2010 at 2:40 am

Good news! Breitbart called it off: http://mediamatters.org/mmtv/201003020052

Bullet, dodged.

Darkness March 3, 2010 at 10:28 am

[re=523375]imissopus[/re]: Wait, he didn’t call it off, he claims to be rising to the douchebag challenge of being taken seriously. I guess that happens so rarely that he wants to draw it out as long as possible.

[re=523088]Junior[/re]: A newenator is one who can retain a straight face while reading from the monitor how those who watch rasslin’ and traffic (NASCAR) and whiney whiteboy tunes plus the most manifest morons on the planet (Faux Noise) plus lissen to Limbo are just the same as anybody else in smarts and stuff. First rule of selling is, don’t insult your customer base.

Bowdoin March 3, 2010 at 12:50 pm

I keep wondering about hermetically-sealed echo chambers. I mean, what if you were a shut-in and your only access to information about teevee was through personal revelations of Joan Rivers (who is working now as a Practal Nurse, I hear). When some hear Limbo or Faux, their only fact-check is the next episode of the same programming. It actually is a parallel universe, the illiterates and – the minority.
