Blackwater Murders the NYT's Dog!
So people have this crazy concoction that private security force Blackwater likes to go around Baghdad and shoot people for no apparent reason. What a silly billy thing to say! Obviously, they shoot people -- or animals -- that piss them off, which is like half-legal for private contractors in Iraq. The New York Times has certainly been pissing Blackwater off every since the whole "massacre" thing by, you know, chronicling very clearly how in-the-wrong Blackwater was. And how does Blackwater respond to the Times' ballbusting? BY SHOOTING ITS DOG.
The U.S. Embassy in Iraq is investigating now, for serious, whether a Blackwater guard shot the NYT's dog, Hentish (wtf right?), in Baghdad. Not much I can add to this Reuters report:
Staff at the newspaper's Baghdad bureau said Blackwater bodyguards shot Hentish dead last week before a visit by a U.S. diplomat to the Times compound.Blackwater spokeswoman Anne Tyrrell said the dog had attacked one of Blackwater's bomb-sniffer dogs while a security team was sweeping the compound for explosives.
"The K-9 handler made several unsuccessful attempts to get the dog to retreat, including placing himself between the dogs. When those efforts failed, the K-9 handler unfortunately was forced to use a pistol to protect the company's K-9 and himself," she said in an e-mail to Reuters.
Blackwater, you just shot the wrong motherfucking dog. Prepare to get shat on by a $250 million annual reporting budget.
