Cheney Stops by Baghdad Just to Make Threatening 'Throat-Slitting' Gesture to Maliki

Vice President Dick Cheney popped over to Iraq unannounced today to meet with Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki and interview prospective replacement figureheads for once they decide to have Maliki disappeared.

Cheney is supposed to "press al-Maliki and other Iraqi leaders to do more to achieve reconciliation among factions." Bush and Maliki had a "videoconference" to address legislation that will magically repair the Sunni/Shia rift. Meanwhile:

In addition to meeting separately and jointly with Iraq's top leaders, the vice president also was to meet with leaders of other influential factions and political organizations.

Once he finds one who's fine with supporting a strategic campaign of losing another war with Iran, we'll be in business again.
