Concerts That Aren't Sold Out Yet (Sorry, Fans Of Bloc Party, Ting Tings, Cut Copy)
- Thursday, March 19: Local indie band The Blackout District sound kind of like Alanis Morissette with synth. That's a horrible comparison, but check out their MySpace and you'll understand. Performing tonight at the Rock and Roll Hotel. [R&R Hotel]
- Friday, March 20: Georgetown music professor Joe McCarthy plays the bongos or whatever in his little World Music getup. Too easy. 1:15PM, McNeir Hall, Georgetown University. [Georgetown]
- Sunday, March 22: Gah! Celtic metal! Todesbonden, a band that Metal Maniacs Magazine described as "Music as powerful as pastoral, creating something sonically akin to the tempting, yet tempestuous lure of Nature in all her simultaneous beauty and brutality," whatever that means, is playing at Jammin Java Cafe. [Jammin Java]
- Tuesday, March 24: If you were sad you missed Bloc Party and need your British It-Band fix, White Lies will certainly do the trick. 8PM at the Black Cat. [MySpace]
- Wednesday, March 25: Berlin-based experimental electro act Booka Shade bring their cutting-edge music to the 9:30 Club. And speaking of sharp edges, if you didn't get tickets to Cut Copy (sorry, guys), this show will make a fine alternative. [9:30 Club]
