'Democrat' Jim Webb Fondly Remembers Slave Holders, Still Won't Be President
No one was waiting around to hear what Reagan fanboy and former Virginia Sen. Jim Webb has to say about the Confederate flag, because no one cares what he has to say about anything, and now we are quite sure the "Democratic" presidential candidate should have kept his stupid mouth shut:
This is an emotional time and we all need to think through these issues with a care that recognizes the need for change but also respects the complicated history of the Civil War. The Confederate Battle Flag has wrongly been used for racist and other purposes in recent decades. It should not be used in any way as a political symbol that divides us.
But we should also remember that honorable Americans fought on both sides in the Civil War, including slave holders in the Union Army from states such as Missouri, Kentucky, Maryland and Delaware, and that many non-slave holders fought for the South. It was in recognition of the character of soldiers on both sides that the federal government authorized the construction of the Confederate Memorial 100 years ago, on the grounds of Arlington National Cemetery.
This is a time for us to come together, and to recognize once more that our complex multicultural society is founded on the principle of mutual respect.
OK, buddy, you run around America talking about the honorable slave holders, while your Democratic competition (LOL) calls for the removal of the Confederate flag in all the places (yeah yeah, even though Robert Byrd was in the KKK and Abe Lincoln was a Republican). A new poll shows an overwhelming 4 percent of Democratic primary voters think you're the cat's pajamas, but if you keep telling them to respect the "complicated history" of white dudes owning people, and declaring war on U.S. America to keep owning people, you're sure to get those numbers up. Watch out, Hillary Clinton, he's comin' right for ya! Don't forget to complain about the "Nazification of the Confederacy" while you're at it:
Here's a hint, pal, since you're so uncertain about how this whole "being a Democrat in the 21st century" thing works: none of us wanna hear you defend the honor of slave owners and racists and the flag their ancestors continue to wave.
In conclusion, shut up, Jim Webb, and fuck off, please and thank you, you're never going to be president anyway.
