Democratic Convention: Where the Party Is
Some Boston04 intern compiled a list of the various party invites that are floating around out there for the week of the Democratic convention. Thank you, unknown intern. We will drink to you. We will fall down in a gutter to you, most likely.
We like to think of it as less a guide than a scorecard. The more exclusive the event, the less information that's available (to, uhm, us anyway):
•8: 00 pm – 11:00 pm: An Evening With the Clintons (The State Room)
What State Room? What building? Who are these Clintons? On the other hand, the less exclusive the event, the more their invitations reek of Milhouse-style "please-don't-reject-me" enthusiasm, which is, in its own way, hard to resist. For example, the New York (and New Jersey!) Democrats are throwing a party with the glossy fishwrapper Gotham, and it's all we can do to not wet ourselves upon reading the invite:
Come experience a New York City-style party at this hot Boston club. The party will host over 2,000 young people and feature special celebrity and political guess. The event will include signing a pledge card, so we can help turn the energy of young people that night into victory for John Kerry in September.
Come on, signing a pledge card ! Can you stand it?!?! Okay, seriously: Let's just hope that's a euphemism for hand-job.
Complete list -- including info for the New England Delegation’s “Shake it Up” party (because nothing screams "Shake It Up" like New England!) -- after the jump.
