Donald Trump To London: PANIC, YOU JERKS.

I am so smart! S-M-R-T!
Donald Trump is back on the Tweeters and making an idjit of himself, using Saturday's terror attacks in London as an excuse to call for his dumb travel ban, apparently because the only way to keep Britain safe is to prevent travel to the USA from majority-Muslim countries where Donald Trump doesn't have any hotels. In fact, having a nice panic about the "need" for the travel ban was actually more important to Trump than offering support to London, which obviously someone pointed out he probably ought to at least pretend to care about. Stirring up fear comes naturally to Trump, but faking empathy does not:
Calling for calm? Appealing to people to pull together? Donald Trump doesn't go in for that sort of pussified presidenting. He wants resentment and anger, and he wants it right now. No more political correctness: Now is a time to yell at Muslims, because they all perpetrated the truck and knife attacks. Many Britons are instead going for keeping calm and carrying on -- if you want an iconic image, it's this gent fleeing the attack but holding on to his pint of beer:
Also being embraced as a hero: a Londoner who's keeping a stiff upper lip, but wasn't about to stiff the restaurant where he was eating when the place was evacuated: Richard Angell returned to Arabica Bar and Kitchen to pay his tab. Shouldn't let a mere terrorist attack be an excuse to dine and dash, after all. Britons are civilised, old bean, eh what, and other anachronistic expressions.
London's mayor -- the scary Muslim Sadiq Kahn, who last year angered Donald Trump when he said "Thanks, no Thanks" to coming to the United States if Trump didn't want no Muslims coming to 'merica, not even the "good" ones -- urged calm and vigilance, and in a BBC interview told Londoners to stay safe and to be reassured security was being stepped up:"There can be no justification for the acts of these terrorists and I am quite clear that we will never let them win nor will we allow them to cower our city or Londoners,” the mayor said in the interview. “Londoners will see an increased police presence today and over the course of the next few days. No reason to be alarmed."
This, of course, struck America's Provocateur In Chief as especially foolish, because being alarmed is both the only way to stay vigilant, and to get votes. And when in doubt, lie about anything a Muslim says, too. While Khan had said the police presence shouldn't alarm anyone, Trump insisted the mayor simply doesn't care about Radical Islamic Terrorism:
Khan didn't have time for Trump's nonsense, which wasn't aimed at London anyway, but at stirring up Trumpers. A statement released by a spokesperson for Khan said the mayor
has more important things to do than respond to Donald Trump’s ill-informed tweet that deliberately takes out of context his remarks urging Londoners not to be alarmed when they saw more police — including armed officers — on the streets[.]
Nuh-uh! said Trump this morning -- he happens to know that when Khan said "no reason to be alarmed," right after talking about the increased police presence, those two sentences had nothing to do with each other, and Khan was obviously telling everyone not to care about RADICAL ISLAMIC TERRORISM. Worse, now the lying media is trying to cover for Khan by quoting what Khan actually said, not what Donald Trump said he said, because Donald Trump is never wrong:
This is a time of great danger, and we need to keep our focus on what really matters: Donald Trump's feud with London's mayor, who is named Sadiq Khan and is a Muslim, did you know that? We're looking forward to the idiot deleted commenters complaining we're reading too much into that -- Trump's only saying the man's name, which is Sadiq Khan, not an ordinary normal English name like "Nigel." What, Trump isn't allowed to say the man's name, Sadiq Khan? Bet his middle name is "Hussein." (Fine, it's Aman.)
Also, too, Trump was very careful this morning to insist again on that Travel Ban, which is such a brilliant idea and will keep America safe by protecting us from terrorists from England, as well as from American courts, which are also terrorist sympathizers, did you know that?
You really have to admire the guy's talent for self sabotage. Travel Ban 1.0 was found unconstitutional for being too explicitly a Muslim ban, and Travel Ban 2.0 is in trouble because of all the stuff Trump said about his motives. So now he's saying more stuff about how much he loved the first, more unconstitutional version. We'll give him this much: he's consistent.
