Free Press Fracas in Sudan
The government of Sudan has issued an official apology for "roughing up" Condoleezza Rice's staff members and journalists covering Rice's visit to Darfur. Apparently there was a scuffle of some sort over access to a meeting. According to CNN, a Rice aide told the Sudanese guarding the room, "We have a free press in the U.S." To which the official replied: "Well, we don't here." Hey, at least they're honest. Rice herself told the staff and reporters she was upset by the incident and that "[t]hey have no right to push and shove." True. That's special prosecutor's job.
