Outspoken Jesus-Christers James Dobson (Focus on the Family), Tony Perkins (Family Research Council) and Richard Viguerie (ten million emails/day to anyone who might be conservative and might have a credit card) are teaming up and combining their powers to summon their own Captain Planet, only with less saving the Earth through recycling and more bringing about Armageddon. And, uh, most importantly, not being thrice-married cross-dressing abortion-supporting Rudy Giuliani.

Last Saturday these Conservative Bigwigs were together in Salt Lake City for the "Council for National Policy," which the New York Times describes as "a secretive conservative networking group." The Revs. Dobson, Perkins, and Shemp broke off to have their own even more secretive, even more conservative chat, and then promptly told the New York Times everything they talked about: They're threatening to run or support a third-party candidate should the GOP nominate Mayor McChildren-won't-speak-to-him.

Now it makes no sense for Rudy to continue to pander and capitulate to the pro-life crowds but he still will anyway because he is craven and vile.

Maybe Dobson and Perkins and Viguerie can run Gary Bauer again and we can all have a good laugh as Dennis Kucinich and Ron Paul sail into the White House.
