If These Scumbags Are Calling You A Traitor Spy, You're Probably Living Right
Every time you think Republicans can't possibly be more awful and more anti-American ...
We touched on this in our post about Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman's testimony before Congress, but we wanted to underline some more just how disgusting Fox News and other Republican idiots are being about this man, a career public servant and Purple Heart, who escaped from the Soviet Union with the rest of his Jewish family when he was three-and-a-half years old.
You know, because obviously that last fact means he's probably a traitor. Yes, we are supposed to believe President Russian Asset, the godforsaken son of corruption himself, is just really worried about "corruption" in Ukraine, and that Alexander Vindman is the real foreign asset traitor person. Yep.
It really kicked off last night when the New York Times reported on Vindman's opening statement, which led Laura Ingraham to have one of her Too-Cool-For-School-Overgrown-Teenager scoff sessions about a paragraph in the Times piece, which basically said that because Vindman speaks Ukrainian, Ukrainian officials have looked to him for help in figuring out who or what the fuck a "Rudy Giuliani" is and how they should handle him:
While Colonel Vindman's concerns were shared by a number of other officials, some of whom have already testified, he was in a unique position. Because he emigrated from Ukraine along with his family when he was a child and is fluent in Ukrainian and Russian, Ukrainian officials sought advice from him about how to deal with Mr. Giuliani, though they typically communicated in English.
And now you may watch Ingraham:
Oh my God, look at the spin they are using right now, actually saying that Vindman is a Ukrainian double agent....t… https: //t.co/jxsfdvjrPS

That's right, that is Laura Ingraham, Li'l Torture Chickenshit John Yoo, and Alan Dershowitz McNoPanties, talking about Who Is A Patriot.
INGRAHAM: Here we have a US national security official, who is advising Ukraine while working inside the White House, apparentlyagainst the president's interests, and usually they spoke in English. Isn't that kind of an interesting angle on the story?
YOO: I find that astounding. And some people might call that espionage.
Fuckin' dumbshits might.
And some might call John Yoo a raging torture hard-on dumpster fire and wonder why he's on TV and not in prison. Or, you know, they might say something about John Yoo being an immigrant from South Korea. Or Melania Trump being an immigrant from Slovenia.
Or they might say Laura Ingraham's adopted sons from Russia are double agents. You know, because of how they came here as children just like Alexander Vindman did . We're not saying that, because we're not raging dicks like Laura Ingraham, but people could say that.
You see that part we bolded above, though, where she said "apparently against the president's interests"? Put a pin in that for a second.
Here's former GOP Rep. Sean Duffy, who is inexplicably being paid American dollars to say words on CNN, even though he's little more than an empty wigstand with dollar store-brand hair gel on top:

DUFFY: It seems very clear that he is incredibly concerned about Ukrainian defense. I don't know that he's concerned about American policy, but his main mission was to make sure that Ukraine got those weapons.
Duffy doesn't know that the career public servant with the Purple Heart who works at the National Security Council specializing in Eurasia is "concerned about American policy"? Is he too fucking ignorant to know that American policy is to support Ukraine, and has been for a real long damned time, in a bipartisan way?
Yes:
DUFFY: Are we saying that by giving this money to the Ukraine that absolutely is the money that's gonna secure American national defense against Russia? I mean, I don't believe that.
Wow. We know this guy used to be in Congress, but then again, so did Michele Bachmann, so that's kind of meaningless these days. But yes, supporting democracy and pushing back Russia in the country that is the gateway between Russia and Europe is paramount to protecting America and the entire western world from Donald Trump's shirtless boyfriend Vladimir Putin.
Duffy added that DONALD TRUMP "looks out for America first," but he just isn't really sure whether the lieutenant colonel with the Purple Heart is really an "America first" kinda guy. But Trump is. YOU BETCHA.
You sensing the theme yet? If not, here is Brian Kilmeade sitting on the "Fox & Friends" couch with that look he always has on his face, like he's secretly excited about how he put rocks in his nostrils and his ears and also his butthole on the playground this morning, explaining that Vindman has an "affinity" with Ukrainians, as if that is somehow a bad thing:
Kilmeade: Vindman "has an affinity to the Ukrainian people." https://t.co/dVoh1vH87t

That's a lighter, less obviously offensive version of the quotes from Ingraham, Yoo, and Duffy, but it's still mindfuckingly stupid.
One thing these mouthbreathing assholes are baselessly alleging is that this Jewish veteran who came to America as a child refugee from the Soviet Union has DUAL LOYALTY. So that's one of the things that's going on here, and should be noted.
But going back to what Ingraham said, about "against the president's interests," a major theme here is that they are FURIOUS at Vindman for working for American interests and in support of American foreign policy, which means by definition he's working against Donald Trump.
As Greg Sargent writes in the Washington Post :
Ingraham is unwittingly admitting the obvious here: In trying to keep our foreign policy aligned with our own national interests, Vindman was operating against those of the president . And this is the real betrayal for which Vindman must be destroyed.
You see, this is what's hard for a lot of Trump supporters to understand, and not just because they're halfwits.
This guy , Alexander Vindman, a Purple Heart who's served America every which way for years, is an AMERICAN, and he's been working at the National Security Council on AMERICAN foreign policy, which in case President Russian Asset and his friends haven't heard, is to support Ukraine in its unsolicited war with Russia.
Meanwhile Donald Trump , no matter how much he'd like to think so, is not AMERICA. Loyalty to Trump is not loyalty to AMERICA. Washington Nationals fans made abundantly clear Sunday night, in the most beautiful demonstration of spontaneous patriotism we've seen in years, that Trump is not AMERICA. He is not our fucking shithole king, though he certainly is a fucking shithole.
Donald Trump is being impeached for the specific crime of extorting a foreign country to help gin up fake dirt against his political opponents to help him win re-election, which has neither shit nor shinola to do with American national security or the national interest. Indeed, he was doing it at the expense of American national security and our foreign policy, by trying to tie military aid Ukraine desperately needs, which had already been appropriated by Congress, to political favors his sad ass wants, because he can't win an election without foreign interference.
So, as Sargent notes in the Post , what really has these scumbags in a rage today is that Vindman and all the rest of these people coming forward are " placing country before Trump ." They're not going along with the president's illegal crime schemes, because they fucking love America too much to turn their back on America by giving in to the whims of President Russian Asset.
It should be noted that there is some mild pushback among Republicans for these gross attacks on Lt. Col. Vindman. Even Rep. Liz Cheney is getting rubbed the wrong way by it, and when a Cheney says a Republican is being gross, it's clear a pretty serious line has been crossed:

This is who Alexander Vindman is , from his opening statement to Congress:
My family fled the Soviet Union when I was three and a half years old. Upon arriving in New York City in 1979, my father worked multiple jobs to support us, all the while learning English at night. He stressed to us the importance of fully integrating into our adopted country. For many years, life was quite difficult. In spite of our challenging beginnings, my family worked to build its own American Dream. I have a deep appreciation for American values and ideals and the power of freedom. I am a patriot, and it is my sacred duty and honor to advance and defend OUR country, irrespective of party or politics.
And from enemies both foreign and domestic, we might add, like America's greatest national security threat himself, Donald John Trump.
For God's sake, Vindman was in a Ken Burns documentary about the Statue of Liberty when he was a little kid.
That's who Republicans are attacking as a traitor today, because that's who Republicans are. And if they're attacking you, you're obviously doing something right.
